The only one of those jobsthat you could even remotely argue isn't better than MSU is Providence. And I would say its comparable at worst.

You've touched on one of the biggest problems of many MSU fans - the mindset that it is somehow this wonderful job high quality candidates will flock to.

And that doesn't make me a settler for the status quo. It makes me a realist.

Probably 6th.

Though if just interms of the current state of the program and potential to be successful overall, we should be 3rd or at worst 4th.

PC is terrible and will be for the next coach thanks to Keno doing nothing to grow it along with the fact that they are a current non factor in their conference and surrounded within a few hundred miles by a slew of excellent programs that all poach talent first.
NC State and GT have both been nothing and with the blue bloods in that conference, it'll be tough to male either program top 3 in conference.

OU has money, history, and can be in the top few of the conference before long.
Arkansas has money, history, and is in our terrible division along with a great incoming class.
UT has the money and facilities to be great.

Those 3 would be ahead of us in terms of chances for success and we should be tied with the SEC schools really.

But I'm sure those ACC jobs would be more coveted than MSU for whatever reasons.

I say we're 4th on that list. Maybe even 3rd.

Georgia Tech is falling behind in the ACC. They had one good run a few years ago. Was anyone at those SEC Tourney gameson GT's campus after the tornado? I was. It was a piece of **** gym.Oklahoma is in shambles and doesn't have much to offer. Back to back losing seasons? I wouldn't want to clean that mess up right now. Not in a conference that might collapseat a school known for football.

Mississippi State, on the other hand, has a brand new facility going up right next door to the Hump, a loaded roster, a great incoming class, a state ripe withtalent to pick from,and a solid fanbase that actually gives a ****. We get all kinds of play on ESPN and, until they do away with divisions, double up on weaker opponents in our schedule.

We're more attractive than you think.

I'll give you Arkansas and Tennessee because of facilities and cash... and I guess NC State because of where it is and what they've done historically... but we're not THAT far behind. Hog Nation is delusional and hasn't proved to be a stable base of support over the years (see: Richardson, Nutt, and Heath).Tennessee is in a big mess right now with the NCAA. NC State has to recruit against Duke and North Carolina every year and they haven't done **** since the 80's.

The time to wait is long gone, but I've accepted the fact that Stans will be our coach next year. I'm just hoping someone on that roster channels their inner-Bowers and takes control of next year's squad on and off the court.

Nowhere did I suggest that what Peaches thinks was somehow holding MSU back. Maybe I was wrong in suggesting it is a problem. I guess it isn't that big of a problem that Peaches is an idiot.
