Bad news for #7 Creighton

They are a decent team, but highly overrated. They got pounded by 20 by 16-15 St. Johns 9 days ago. Sad to see any player get injured, but the media have their darlings and their one of them so I'm sure this will be the excuse of why they lose now. In all honesty from the games I have watched with them, they are a Top 25 team, but not a Top 10 team.

I think they would destroy Duke if 100% healthy. The Blue Devils struggle defensively. Would struggle even more if Tre Jones wasn’t allowed to foul every play.
Pretty unbelievable how that douche is permitted to foul on literally every single play. His brother was also similar. Man, duke’s 2015 title was about as counterfeit as it gets. Runs neck and neck with 2017 uncheat.

Interesting. If he has a meniscus issue, they're going to need to scope his knee and fix it, which will require healing time and possible rehab.
If they try to play him, he'll be fine in the first game he plays… .maybe, but he won't be worth a damn 2 days later.

no expert but I would think you don't get over an injury like that in just a few days
Nope. I dealt with a torn meniscus for many years until I gave in and had the surgery done.
If I did any physical activity, my knee either locked up or hurt like a SOB the next few days.

I don’t see how this guy can play, unless it's a very minor tear.

You could make the argument that he was their best player, actually. Creighton loses in the next game or two, I imagine they drop off the 2-seed and are poised for an opening weekend exit.

I remember Lute Olsen refused to talk about his best player being out with a bad back for the tournament because it would cost them their seeding - everyone knew he wasn't going to play but Arizona wouldn't make an official statement

4-6 weeks. I’ve had it done TWICE
Right. His recovery time will likely be shorter than that, given that he will have specialized therapy and trainers that you may not have had, but you're still looking at the beginning of April on a best case scenario. In other words, he's probably done for the season.

And I agree with others here- I wouldn't wish this on any player or team, especially this time of year. We've been there, done that, with multiple players. Nerlens Noel's injury essentially ended our season in 2012-13. Cauley-Stein's injury in the Dance may have cost us the 2014 title. Keith Bogans going down may have cost us at least a trip to the Final Four back in 2003. There have been others not as bad, but still cost us key players. It's no fun.

Prob won't matter for Duke, they will either be on same seed line or below. They are not getting a 2 unless they somehow when the Big East Tourney

I guess that's possible. But I still think a lot of movement can happen, and fully suspect they will move things around to line them up with Duke.

Although, it would be reaaal nice if Kentucky could get them as our 3-seed. But I would be floored if that happened.

Just be prepared to see them replace Creighton with either Villanova or Seton Hall.
They have done it the last couple months. They feel the need to keep a Big East team on that 2 line. It was Villanova, then it was Seton Hall (took two losses in one week to move SH off the 2 line) and now it's Creighton.
It's weird, these Big East teams can lose games at home and on the road to bad teams, but they stay in position to be placed right back into the top 10 the second they win 2 games in a row.
All three of those teams look the same to me. They're smaller teams with minimal post presence that shoot a ton of threes, but the media keeps trying to convince everyone that they’re great.

I think at the end of the day the Big East has a 2, 3 and 4. Villanova the 2, SH the 3 and Creighton the 4. No way in hell they get 2 two seeds! One thing that of course will prob hurt UK is if they were on the same seed line, Creighton may have gone MW instead of UK.
