I don’t pay attention to this stuff really, but I saw someone mention not long ago he and Oscar were both solidly second round. Makes sense for both to return.

Regarding the testing waters deal, I don’t really like the way the process has played out here either, but I also don’t think it makes a bit of difference. All our guys are gonna say they are testing waters, our staff knows who’s coming back or not with very few exceptions. That info is passed along to recruits and transfers behind the scenes I’m sure.

I agree it still is silly that they all will do this, but it’s a “branding” or perception thing at this point I guess. Miss the old days when it was cut and dry.

They are going to be tough next season.
I have my reservations like I did with everyone putting UCLA #1 after last years tournament. Do I think they will be a Top 15-20 team yes….but without Manek and also without getting better defensively they have a ceiling.

Per Rothstein. Wonder why he isn't at least testing the waters like every one of our players do.

Because he's playing in an actual college basketball program and not a one and done circus -slash- wanna be NBA farm team. It's the culture that was built here. Players 1st. Come play a year here, then leave even if you're not ready. So in turn, most of the recruits don't give a **** about the program.

If you are they just changed it in the last couple years as it was just once.

I believe technically it's twice, but the 2nd time is it.

So if he "tested the waters" this year again, he wouldn't be eligible to declare next year when he does it for real.

At least that's how I remembered it, could be wrong though.

EDIT: Apparently I may be incorrect based on some other posts.

So the best big man throughout the NCAA Tournament is coming back despite absolute domination in the semis and finals but you get guys here bouncing who A) Never even played B) Didn't even start C) Projected to go second round or undrafted.

This isn't even unique because over the years, UNC, Kansas, and Duke have all managed to keep guys multiple years where as if they came here, they'd be gone.

Because ALL of these 2nd round kids KNOW what the NBA thinks about their games. This BS that Cal spews about ALL of our kids SHOULD "Get feedback" is nothing but propaganda. EVERY player with NBA potential has heard from scouts and they KNOW what they need to work on for the next level.
