OSU is a very successful program
They are better than NU now- it is what it is
Cant fault anyone right now- for choosing OSU over NU
Their coach has had an amazing track record of success at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and OSU- Hats off to him
OSU is putting more kids into the league than NU now
OSU is a blue blood in a state that LOVES football
There isnt any smoke that he has cheated and has won a bunch of games
In 2018- where we are at now- part of who OSU is now is what we aspire to be. Banging on OSU reminds me of the Colorado and KSU fans when they were starting to win for the first time- that type of "new rich" jealousy bit is not who NU and its fans are IMO.

I dont hate the rich- I want to be one ;)

Yeah, but I'm 50/50 as to whether the guys I listed are really douches, or if all of us just think they are because we're jealous of their success. I'm sure if, five years from now, Frost is wildly successful we'll be hearing from all of our favorite fanbases about what a dick he is. Say what you want about Urban Meyer, we'd have all taken him as our coach at any time in the last 15 years.

I honestly could not careless who you got. Good for you guys and the future of your program. I'm just enjoying the OSU staff is evil and drops napalm on defenseless third-world villages talk.

Go Bucks!!!

Thanks for swinging by and allowing us to bask in your intelligence! To you stalk all “third world Villages” or are we just lucky to get you?

Very heart warming to see Michigan and Nebraska fans cry about how bad a person Urban Meyer is for announcing a recruit's decision on TV, when the recruit himself probably gave him the OK to do so.

IceBlu you are awesome and very entertaining.

This thread makes me laugh, we spend all this time talking about how today's athlete is all about himself.

An elite kid picks a school but isn't comfortable making it all about himself because he might feel he let some people down. He lets Urban do it for him and everyone cries foul.

I would have loved to see Urban at Nebraska before we got Frost.

Like someone else said, there is no cheating from him, he has won everywhere he's gone. Sounds like a bunch of jealous and spiteful people up in here! Is there a way to not cut somebody else down???

Goodnight! Urban is a fantastic football coach and nobody knows what goes on in his personal life here, I'll bet my bank on it(not really saying much).

A lot of folks judging him for what they see in his actions and probably judge themselves on their intentions.

GO BIG RED!!!

Maybe since the kid's original plan for announcing got messed up by the weather he told them to go ahead. Maybe since the staff was in a PC he wasn't able to communicate to them that the new plan hadn't gone off yet. Maybe the vilification of OSU helps you deal with the disappointment. I have no idea an neither do you.

If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. I don't buy it for a minute. Kid was telling a Nebraska reporter what he figured Nebraska people wanted to hear - or for the reaction. Either way, I will bet he has been a silent commit to tOSU for some time. (I believe he told Sam that, I just don't believe he was thinking Nebraska at any point Wednesday (or for some time prior to Wednesday)

Well you would know more than the reporter that spoke to the kid.

God, I hope everyone thinks Frost is a douche in a few years in the Meyer, Belichick, Brady mold. I'll take the W's.

Iowa fans are already there. There is a thread over on their board with them trashing Caleb Tannor, Frost and Nebraska..

Pound like 40-10 (2016) or 56-14 (2017) or pound 55-25 (Iowa vs OSU) or would 14-13 (Iowa vs mich) be enough it it ended an undefeated season for us. :)

84-10 type of pounding, that way Iowa and Minnesota can then be in a heated rivalry once more only now over who Nebraska pounded more. :D

Get your kicks in now. That asleep giant on the floors heart just showed a murmur...we'll see if it means if it's waking up or not. But if it wakes up, look out (Iowa fans already know this...Ohio St, Penn St, Wisconsin, Michigan are in for a treat though).

It is. I don't think any of us know which kid is going to wind up being the better player in 2-3 years, but not landing JJB is a loss to Urban, plain and simple. Still, at least we got Tannor! And lets hope we land Mo Washington!
Before we cry too many tears about losing JJB, there is a strong possibility the O$$U bagman may have been involved. Like why would a kid call our coaches early in the a.m. and say he's on board - then suddenly turn on a dime (probably much more than that) and reverse directions. Smells real fishy to me. I know that cash is hard to trace, but sure wish the NCAA would look into a few of these situations where the kid suddenly does an about face. They could a least check bank accts for large deposits, new cars, etc. I think he would have been N except for 50,000 reasons (just a guess). CBS sports had an article where an unnamed coach from the SEC told them about 80% of the SEC teams are dirty. I wouldn't doubt ole Meyer would do whatever it took to get the recruit he wanted; after all, he coached for a while in Florida (SEC). Might have learned how to "grease palms" down there.

The problem I have with the bagman theory is why would Ohio State risk it going after one of their lowest priority recruits? Doesn't make much sense.

I'm sure their bagman said "we have beaten NU 150-40 in our last 3 meetings". Gawd the audacity of some recruiters. If a recruit chooses NU over OSU at this point they are stupid or don't want competition. Hopefully that tune changes in a few years.

Well said! They are either “stupid” or “don’t want competition,” those are the only two reasons any recruit would pick Nebraska. I bet you’re the kind of guy/gal that has always been the smartest one in the room. Not to mention you sure are some sort of super fan! We could all learn a lot from you.

I can see points for him choosing Ohio St over NU. Just my thinking, but why wouldn't a kid like that want to come to top program who is rebuilding?
At Ohio St there are many players just as talented as he is. More than likely he will get lost in the crowd. If he doesn't he will probably sit the bench for 2 years. If he came to Nebraska he would be towards the top of the talent pool. He would have a very good shot to play right from the beginning. He could say he helped build Nebraska back. He would have just as much a shot to go to the NFL one days as he would at Ohio St. Maybe my thought process is different, just makes more sense to come to NU from a playing time standpoint
