B1G - who to root for tonight

So no matter what we need OSU to lose now on Sunday if we want a shot at double bye. That means losing to Michigan.

Should we be rooting for Iowa tonight as they should lose to Illini on Sunday IMO.

Definitely rooting for Iowa, as that puts the nail in the coffin for UM to tie us and Iowa will then hopefully lose at Illinois and UM will beat OSU, since that game will likely be for UM's tournament life - and if those things all happen and we beat PSU, we're 4th and get the double bye and a 10-seed even with a loss in the first round. No problem.

Agree. Root for Iowa tonight and for them to lose to IL on Sunday. MI will then be desperate on Sunday with the NCAA tourney on the line and hopefully will beat OSU.

But I almost don't care about Ohio State - Michigan. If OSU wins then we are 5 seed against NW/Minny with the next game against OSU... And bubble team Michigan gets another loss. Sounds pretty good.

Or Michigan wins and we get the double bye

They played as easy a conference schedule as possible in terms of who they played twice. OOC they played 3 tough games, were beaten handily in two and beat UConn close.

They have an experienced team and a stud 5* freshman who will be a first rounder. They just can’t play defense.

Actually, they played a damn tough OOC. In addition to the 3 “tough” games - @ Butler, Loyola (neutral), Oakland (20-12) neutral, Toledo (6 losses). UofL stinks but it was one of their easiest pre-season games.

Oregon down 10 at the half at Washington. They lose tonight and they’re officially done unless they win conference tourney.

Why is that? They are 5th in the PAC12, 12-8 in conference and 18-12 overall. I don't follow bracket stuff so I don't know what is going on.

They arent done...significantly hurt but a trip to Pac 12 finals will get them consideration

I thought Iowa played a nice game on the road against a team that really needed a W. They answered every time Michigan made a run. While Illinois will be a different style game, after watching both of them play tonight, I would not discount the Hawks chances over the weekend. More surprised that OSU was able to beat Michigan State rather handily without Key and Young. Spartans do seem to be struggling.

Iowa will be a very dangerous tournament teaam because they will score at least 75 points regardless where the games are played.They play a fast tempo offense which is similar to the type of offense seen in the Big 12, Big East and SEC.

After mulling it over I'm OK with the results. MSU and UM now a full game in the rear view and tough games remain for OSU and Iowa. Double bye still very much possible but boy I think PSU will be tough on Sunday.

Right so if we are tied with only Michigan then you compare win % against the #1 B1G team, if it's the same for both teams then it's your win % against the #2 B1G team and so on is how I understand it
