He might not be selected in the 2021 Draft.
I think June 30 was the deadline to submit paperwork to enter the transfer portal and be able to play immediately in the 2021-22 season.
I think Cockburn knows he's not going to be one of the first 45 players picked so he may as well come back to school and try to improve his draft stock for the 2022 draft. And, it would appear that he wants to be coached by Orlando Antigua so he entered the transfer portal.
I don’t see how the conference doesn’t take a big step back this year. Not even close to replacing the talent that is leaving almost across the board.
Agree somewhat… a lot of the top players are gone, but there will be guys that surprise like there is every year

Connor Odom was a walk-on at Maryland. His father is Utah State head coach Ryan Odom.
Odom was the head coach at UMBC. I figured Connor would be a walk-on for his dad.

Doesn't seem to have been reported through the portal yet that he's committed - at least according to the verbalcommits.com data. I'll update the list, though. That happened with another player (can't remember who), who was committed for weeks before the portal list caught up.
Wait, I thought he hired an agent and removed his name from the portal?
Did that rule change with NIL, too?

A few years ago the ncaa allowed early entrants to hire an NCAA approved agent while they tested the waters without losing their eligibility as long as they ended the relationship with the agent if they chose to return to college.
Thanks, missed that change! Thought hiring an agent still closed the door on returning.
