so, after a depressing MBB season and with some great optimism for the FB season, I’m thinking about away games. I’m thinking WI and NEB look like a couple of great options. Depending on game time, fly in Sat Am and out on Sun AM staying somewhere local. Lara will probably want to go go leaving one or two spots open.

I lost my first choice passenger this year :( If you think you are ready for a ride on Knucklehead Airlines, let me know. CM2006 - here’s your chance. GCG - ready to spend some quality time together? Mike, not sure I could handle your endless optimism in my ear, but invite is there (though I reserve the right to exit stage left ;) ). Anyone else?

Though I appreciate the offer, family medial issues generally prevent me from traveling outside of the NYC area for games (fortunately, we've had the Pinstripe Bowl and BTT in NYC in the past few years, so I haven't been completely shut out, though I dream of making a bowl trip somewhere nice someday!). If my family circumstances ever change for the better, I'll be happy to take you up on this-- and I promise, I will tone down the optimism...

You wanna watch the four year old or the one year old?

I appreciate the invite, but I doubt I can even make it back to Evanston this year as I’m also NYC-area bound with an infant. It was tough to miss the B1G championship and Holiday bowl last year - the first I’ve missed since the Ticketcity Bowl - but I’m just thankful my boy arrived safely after the holidays.

The Rutgers game was a real treat as I got to meet a board member and almost met up with another, even if the performance on the field left a lot to be desired.

If I do make it back for a game I’d be happy to grab a cold one with you and hopefully meet a few more board folks.

Just curious: any chance you’re flying out to Stanford or is that out of range?

Yes. Stop off in Heber City, UT and pick me up.

Unless I buy the new plane, none. This one can’t get over the Rockies.

Now the Golden Eagle in my plans will let me bring Lara, you, gcg and both his kids and still have room for his daughter’s hat while we soar way over the Rockies.

You can probably get a good deal on a slightly used Boeing 737 MAX from Lion Air......
I mean if you’re going to upgrade to a new private jet... the tax breaks are now very favorable so it’s never made more sense:

I know, I know, some will want to ban this thread to the rant board. But as we’re discussing travel to and from Wildcats games this is clearly Football board material.

The Vision looks cool. Saw one up in Makinaw (sp) once. Totally impractical. But jets are long away. Golden Eagle (twin piston) leads to King Air (turbo prop) may lead to some well used, little family Lear or Honda some day. Some day. If y’all start referring me some guys ;P

Swinging through Atlanta on the way to NE may be considered by some to be out of the way. Since I grew up in NE and my annoying NE ultra-fan son in law always buys the tickets I am going (I buy the tickets for Evanston games). If you are going to the NE game and want to be introduced to almost every tailgate in Lincoln courtesy of my SIL, let me know. Still trying to figure out what other game I am going to - other than the Rose Bowl.
