He’s the transfer that stings the most, started all year for Oregon state (I have to watch their games as my Nephew plays OL for them) and leads their team in tackles.

Several times coaches said publicly Roberts needed to take off bad weight and work the strength and conditioning program if he wanted to move up on the depth chart.

Now according to quite a number of experts on this board coaches don't have a clue about what the players are doing or should be doing. In spite of that, I'm taking a wild stab in the dark and going with the coaches. lol

Hope that was quick enough, Tex.

That's a good lapdog. Did you happen to come across Avery Johnson's side of the story? I bet not.

Some of us actually question the same old thing we've been seeing for 15 years. It's not just Frost's tenure. Plenty of highly rated recruits have left this program. "Experts" are constantly saying there are reasons for this. Some of these recruits go on to succeed elsewhere. This is extremely frustrating. The talent card can't continue to be played if it continues to get run off. I hope next year will be different, though.

Random drunk posters will always be right as long as we win less than 9 a year. It gets harder to be a curmudgeon when a team wins nearly every game...I remember some pretty irate fans with only two loss seasons though...and probably the most anger from the 96 season when we were one win away from the national title. I think it is best to ignore lonely unhappy men and just have threads based on discussion and hope somebody actually knows something about the program. Every player that transferred hurts...every player that leaves has an effect on the overall buy-in, and having loved teammates jump ship definitely gave pause to the guys that stayed behind. Adrian was not the favored qb, most people thought Avery would be a starter....had Gebbia stayed he would have provided much needed depth a maybe even allowed Adrian to Redshirt and develop before being thrown to the wolves.

Back to back losing seasons and getting absolutely outcoached by mediocre opponents just makes me want to trust our coaching staff.

I truly didn’t want to pile on Frost just an observation on watching every game #34 (Roberts) played this year. FYI if it makes everyone feel better Gebbia played against Oregon....
Didn’t impress also imho Roberts > Barry and Honas

Talented kid that was upset with Bray being let go and had Bray in his ear. Probably best for all that he left.

I think the coaches could've handled the situation better. IIRC, the called him out in public a few times. Some dudes respond to that, others need to be handled differently.

Maybe. They were very frustrated with his attitude I know. He was out of shape and not working hard. That was reflected in his position on the depth chart and he didn't like it. I think the public shaming was a last resort attempt at motivating him to get with the program. We will be a much better team when guys like Nelson can kick people in the *** that need it.

what about random drunk posters that proclaimed only winning 7 games this year would be a disaster and 8 would be disappointing?
I’m sure Frost thought that. I dont think his expectations were that low. He probably thought we had a team that could beat anyone outside Ohio State.

Who are the talented disgruntled 4 stars who have left and done big things elsewhere in the last ten years?

Aaron Green, who was a worse player than ameer though we certainly could have used him.

That's the extent of the list that I can come up with.

Tyler Moore at Florida? I don't know if he did big things, but I believe he started on their offensive line.

It is pretty depressing to look at list of the 4-star players we signed in the last decade and see how many of them did not amount to anything.

He was terrible there.

Yea but we can always blame the booze and claim redemption! :)

Nobody thought this season would happen, real-shame, more questions than answers at this point. I think that is the "sober" viewpoint.
