Such nonsense. The title of the linked article is inexcusable click bait. On the contrary, KP has NOT been linked to the "Nike scandal". The last paragraph of the article even acknowledges KP is not linked to any wrongdoing. Apparently, his name was mentioned in a message. That doesn't implicate him in anything.

If KP did text "watch your back, bro" then that's regettable and might require asking some questions, but that alone only proves he was in touch with DeBose and Nike.

I guess we will get the hammer dropped on us on Monday. That won't investigate this one, they saw UK, give them the death penalty. This is getting blown way out of proportion. What did he even say to be involved in anyway. Lol

Question #1. If a coach or assistant coach has a player or parent to ask for -----------------------money or tell the coach he has to match or beat a $ offered
------------------- by U of XYZ, is he required to report to NCAA . (never done}
Question #2. If a recruit or parent is offered $s by XYZ, should that recruit
------------------- lose eligibility if he fails to report it......never happens.

Seems these texts show KP knew Nike was corrupt. Count me in that group as well.

Seems like UK completely stopping recruiting Ayton, while the whole world asks “WHY?” , in retrospect shows me everything I need to know about my team. Go Blue...

Now that we’ve moved past that distraction, let’s talk about Zion (what should be the REAL) story here

Good grief! This is one article that should never have been written. If they have some solid evidence, I think it should be presented but this reeks of gossip and innuendo. We should be better than this.

The guy Payne was texting is the director of the eybl, where UK focuses most of their recruiting. Why is it surprising he was texting him? [laughing]

And doesn’t the fact that the guy told Payne in the text that they were paying people show that until that point, Payne DIDNT KNOW?

Anything more than a totally cursory glance at this thing looks positive for Kentucky. The only thing that can be construed as negative is that he didn’t rat out the guy. And frankly, who the heck would do that?

So haven't been following this. Does this relate to the Avanatti case or a separate investigation into Nike corruption? Does anyone have a link to where this is all coming from?

What a reach here. If someone, maybe a friend tells you something that you didn't know or are uncomfortable with this sounds about like what you might say to not be a dick, but get out of the convo, "Watch your back bro". This is weak sauce! Don't worry about the wiretaps saying pay him or whatever and all the houses and damming stuff we have read with no punishment. Yeah, but let's go get KP for a vague watch your back bro, LMFAO!

It is evident that a an assistant was at least having those types of conversations. There could be trouble brewing

You mean like wiretaps? Asking for a friend.

Guys, please assure me nothing is going to come of all this crap concerning nike and KP. I know the NCAA would love to get something, anything on Cal. I know schools already negatively recruit against us. Sorry for the hand-wringing but I can't help myself. I have read the article twice and see nothing at this point that incriminates us but I am a worrier by nature. Thanks.

All/ most players lost their amateur status as a conspiracy was happening upon the NCAA that turned a blind eye.
It didn’t mean uk UofL or anyone tried to break the status quo- they were all caught up in it.

Time to call a spade a spade - stop the slave trade and pay these guys

The real issue is not that Nike paid players, which we know has been taking place (Marvin Bagley's family pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars) but that Nike seems to be funneling the top kids to Duke. That is a bigger scandal because Nike is acting as an agent of Duke's and illegally paying these kids and their family.

Aau people are acting as if they are looking out for the best interest of the player when really they are lining their own pockets. Now I’m sure there are good people in that business but I believe they are few and far between. The power of the almighty dollar and to tell the truth I can’t say I blame the kids when everyone around you is making money off your talent.

Just to give everyone a heads up, this clown is bashing us on the UL Scout board. His username is 516card over there. Here's a couple of his threads.

You should be worried, wart. You’ve lost a championship banner, your program is a disgrace and a laughingstock, and, oh yeah, Kentucky is 100 percent clean for 30 years while your program is a constant joke.

It is the Avanatti case and UK assistant knew nothing about payments as stated in texts. Don't get your panties in a bunch!

I believe Kentucky is clean and will until proven otherwise.

The timeline is too coincidental. Cal is a great recruiter but has had a few off seasons and high profile misses.

What changed?

His refusal to be in on guys who are on the take, IMO.

Not a Cal or KY fan by any stretch, a KU fan, but it looks like UK is clean. Hope this remains the case.

Which is not a UK board. My opinions here are always civil. Even as I digest the worse remarks against the team I cheer for.
Most here want a death penalty for u of l - ok that’s fine but the team will be back. The Wiki page is quite ironic. I wasn’t looking to bash. I went googling death penalty to see what u of l may suffer.
Anyway I like it here as you all are like hound dogs getting the dirt before anyone.
Thanks

I googled death penalty and it brought up several pages about capital punishment. So I googled “death penalty ncaa” and it brought up pages for the NCAA, SMU and wait for it

several articles about Louisville basketball.
