Josh Pastner is one of the top 10 winningest coaches over a first 6 year coaching stretch and has the most wins by a UM head coach in the their first 6 years for the history of the memphis basketball program. Those are the facts. Those are the results of the "unbiased" research. What you don't get is the fact that you are the bias one. Listing a bunch of people who think he is in over his head, which is a subjective thing, is by definition bias. You tell me I'm wrong, but wrong about what? All I ever said was he's not as bad as you say. He's not a hall of famer but he's also not a guy who never makes the big dance, can't recruit, can't put together 20 win seasons, and can't keep a program nationally relevant. Guys who can't do those things are in over their heads. Pastner's body of work doesn't put him in that category no matter how much you and others in memphis hate him.
You just don't seem to want to get it. It's already been explained to you a million times now. Josh Pastner was handed an extremely unique situation and has lost full control of it. What are you having trouble with? Do you know what some of these past Memphis teams would do to Josh partners Memphis schedule? Do you know what Cal would have done taking over a Memphis program left by a legend at the peak with Tulane and School for be blind on the schedule? You can tout any numbers you like, if you're trying to spin pastner in a positive light, you are misleading. No other Memphis coach in history played a Conference or CUSA schedule as weak as Josh pastner. Cal had to BUILD Memphis AND compete with Marquette, Louiville, Cincinatti, etc. Pastner was in a completely different situation. The only thing that was at all similar was the name MEMPHIS. STOP MISLEADING
Aside from owning the new CUSA in HIS FIRST FEW YEARS, the guy has NOTHING.
I also like how you ignored everything going on and threw out nothing.
Say this to yourself before you respond.
13 is the number of total transfers. 6 years.
6 total players in his class of '13. 1 remains. FIVE TRANSFERS in ONE CLASS. Do you have any idea how rare that is?
Probable Back to back NO post season tourney coming up.
Don't even get me started on how his players treat him, and they love to tweet about it.
His coaching is also called out by unbiased people, including his supporters. Sports writers that LIKE HIM have taken issue with his coaching and team management. It's about as bad as it gets.
You just need to accept the fact that you are standing on an island all alone. You know something the basketball world doesn't. You know the REAL Josh Panster. Lol.
You're dead wrong and he's gone. You don't know more than 40 year season ticket holders and his bosses. You don't know more about this than Memphis beat writers. You don't know much about it at all. He's going to be fired. Thats the only unbiased fact you need buddy.
