There were contributions from many players to get this win.

Hyatt gave us 4 hustle plays to get us points or extra possessions.

Twice he hustled and got to loose balls that Illinois players had better chances at.

Tip in bucket on offensive rebound.

And a rebound on the Geo missed foul shot using his length and will,

5 rebounds. 3 offensive. Pike wanted his size and physicality in there. Although he did have a couple bad plays he made key plays and loved the effort

Yes he had some good good moments but objectively I thought he also made some bad plays including the foul on the 3 point shot late in the game.

You can literally look at Hyatt on the court and tell he is going thru confidence issues. Every good or hustle play he made his teammates went to pump him up and encourage him to keep it up.

Need him and Mag to step it up if Ron is out. Loved his Hussle tonight.
One if the coaches (I think Larkin) pointed out that mag was too amped up in the first half (I've said that he plays like that all the time lol) and they took him out for good.

Once he can control his energy he will be a much better player

That was a total BS call the guy had already come down the ball was way out of his hand and then he ran into a joke just like the BS reffing the entire 2nd half to try and help Illinois get back into the game 11-3 fouls plus missed traveling on Kofi at least twice!!

Hyatt has the potential to be a Yeboah-type player. He seems to have a good knack at crashing the boards, which we need. He has moves in the paint, and he can shoot. Like the previous poster mentioned, he just needs his confidence back. You love his attitude on the court. He is asked to give 10 high-energy minutes and help out, and he seems enthused in his role. He has the potential to have a much bigger role next year.

It’s become clear that our starting 5 is now one of the best in the B1G conference, and role players like Hyatt, Reiber, Mag, Miller and Agee take on added significance by giving our starters a chance to rest while making even a modest contribution. Hyatt and Reiber were especially good examples of that against IL.

We're a classic example that a team with good players with a lot of experience can be greater than the sum of its parts. Our starters are a 5th year player, 2 4th years, a 3rd year and a 2nd year. In today's world of transfers and early departures to the NBA, that is an experienced team.

He has the potential to be a good player for us, but you can see that he is pressing and rushing all the time. When he learns to let things slow down I am hoping he will make a big jump for us.

I’m guessing that Pike would view André as the guy to go to for offensive bump, Mag for defense?

Rewatched the game and yea, Andre’s contributions were even more amazing than when we first watched them (and I was still saying wow during the game). That put back rebound with 5 guys around him was a thing of beauty and led directly to an Underwood TO
