Never been a better example game for "Everyone's Super Bowl". The refs didn't help either.
That was a terrible terrible loss for UK. Which is why I'm not yet completely sold that this team has turned it around. But it's a start.
It is what frustrated me to make a couple of dramatic post. An inexcusable loss.

In case anyone is wondering or doesn't have SEC Network, Auburn is getting blown out 70-41 at this moment at Florida.

Auburn played their best game of the year, and we still had them down 12 at home in the 2nd half. We imploded. No way we should have lost that game, but it's not like Auburn wouldn't have beat a bunch of other SEC teams that night either.
Auburn is a bad team that played out of their head when they played UK
He is. What don't people get about drawing huge conclusions after individual games or performance early on in a tenure at a crappy school?
He's nowhere near Cal's level, but if you don't think he'll have Auburn competing in the next 2-3 years, I think you're crazy.

It is actually how bad we play on the road. At home we look almost unbeatable at time.
I remember when Don Devoe got fired at UT, he said, wait a minute I beat Kentucky and the athletic director said yea but you lost to Ole Miss twice, of course Ole Miss was bad back then. These coaches need to understand that beating Kentucky can't save your job when you lose to teams you should beat all the time. I thought he was a motivator, looks like they can only play when he starts crying and sweating. I'm disappointed in Auburn hiring a proven liar and cheater.
Their season ended that night. Maybe they will show up again if we play them in the SEC tournament. The SEC is very frustrating from a UK basketball fan perspective.
Pearl is smoke and mirrors. Headed to his 60's with ZERO final fours, but some think he's anywhere near UK caliber. It's insane.
why can't UK football use this Superbowl mentality and beat an sec powerhouse football team once or twice a year?
If all these other SEC teams played every game like they do the one night they played Kentucky, the Conference would get about 10 teams in the tournament every year and 6 of them would be legitimate Final Four contenders.
Because ginormous upsets are way harder to pull off in football than in basketball.
We may look back and thank Auburn for that game. Seems to have lit a fire under the team with how they've responded the past 2 games.
But just think how differently we'd all be looking at this UK team if we had won that game. Be 16-3 and probably back in the top 10 with visions of working our way back up to a #1 seed.

Speaking of UF, we're all making fun of auburn here but not seeing much respect given to the gators for that beat down. They're starting to play better.
