vs. Kansas and NC. Whipped UT in the SEC tournament. So if you would have told me before the game that they would have 60 at the end of regulation, then I'd bet that the Cats would win.

It's about offense.

Football coaches have offensive coordinators. We need one.

We waste time 20 feet from the basket with useless passes, putting no stress on the defense. The result is a forced shot to beat the clock.

Good shooting is mainly a result of getting good shots. Good shots occur when the right players get the ball in the right spots. Doesn't just happen by chance.

Do we ever seem to score out of a time out?

Do we create or take advantage of mismatches?

Lob to corner is our go to in bounds play.

Never back screen, down screen, or cross screen.

Young? Don't buy it. Not 30 + games into the year.

61 points in regulation would win a basketball game today. Kentucky started 4 Five star players and 1 four star. Two 5 star players are reserves. Lack of talent? No

Cal represents the school well. I appreciate the quality people he recruits. No embarrassing situations off the court. But good coaches address weaknesses. Offensive execution is ours.

We've got to get better offensively. 60 + points and we are in the final four.

"Hey, now..you're not allowed to give criticism of Coach Cal on here..even if you like him and still want him to be the Coach here !" - Some jackasses on this board (that would ******* have a stroke if they saw things that are being said outside of this board by UK fans)

Know what you mean. I want Cal. Great coach in many ways. Understands the culture of Kentucky basketball. Love his confidence. Hoping we get better offensively.

We lost it in the first half when their three guys had 2 fouls each and we tried to become the golden state warriors. We could have put our foot on their throats and ended the game by halftime.

Cal has not evolved with the game. We play late into the clock and take far fewer threes than other teams, especially at tournament time. That's one reason our free throw shooting has been so bad. We don't shoot the ball well and pound it inside to poor free throw shooters. It's pretty much the only option we had the last two years.

Auburn beat us today not because they hit threes, but because they had the ability to. We had to guard them farther out than we were capable of and they drove around us.

I love Cal as our coach. I think he’s one of the best the way he motivates his guys. The offense is fine when he has a stud PG who can distribute and finish drives. We haven’t had that since Fox & company got jobbed by Higgins.

I thought he didn’t do a good job with the offense this year. I don’t think our guys complemented each other. Herro had to be the guy who fed the post. Which took away his off the ball action and made most of his shots jumpers off iso or forced at the shot clock. Hagans wasn’t a scoring threat and never learned to finish. Keldon disappeared for stretches because the action stayed on one side of the floor most of the time. He quit popping both bigs out to clear out driving lanes. He just got tighter with the reins after Reid got hurt late.

Good observation. As the game was unfolding late i sat there thinking to myself that if i closed my eyes i would swear i was watching a Virginia game. Limiting possessions, cluttered offense, relying on your defense to get stop after stop. All the season ending losses except for UNC in 2017 have looked exactly the same.

Exactly. We have way to many options to slow it down and limit possessions.

This is a fantastic post and likely won't get the reverence it deserves.

We had to respect Auburn's ability to make threes today. We had to over play because of it. The result? Their guards just became basketball players and blew by us.

Also, pitch the ******** of positionless basketball. On no planet can Reid Travis guard the opposing team's point guard. We cannot continue to switch high ball screens. Just freaking hard hedge and recover like every other coach that has half a freaking brain.

I am sorry but Hagans has gotten better and improved during this season but he killed us today with 8 or so turnovers today. Everytime we had a chance to build on our 10 or 11 point lead Hagans had a turnover today. Then we go 12/21 from the free throw line and on top of that we miss 3 or 4 One and One from the free throw line. When we were up 10 or 11 points and stopped Auburn 4 straight times we come down and KJ misses a couple of 3's, Herro misses a 3, and PJ from the corner misses a wide open three. WE could have easily built a 20 point lead like we had in Lexington vs. Auburn when we won by 27. Then the biggest issue was for Hagans to turn the ball over 8 times or more today.
