I bet it'll move away from us. I doubt the betting public has much faith in us.

I've been hitting the Sagarin ratings hard in my pick 'em group to great success the last couple weeks. If it's at AU -4 by the weekend, it's an easy choice to pick State.

We are 2-1 against the spread so far and Auburn is 0-3. We might not win the game but I don't see folks lining up with cash in both hands to side with Auburn.

The one that feels the most desperation will win. Right now Auburn is probably more desperate because of expectations this year.

You're trying to make it more complicated than it really is. The better team will most likely win. Just like in most games. And that team wears maroon.

No I'm not trying to make it complicated...no agenda. I do believe that desperation can be a difference maker..particularly in a game like this. I'm like everybody else...can't stand Auburn.

Our defense will play better, but it probably won't be enough. Teams can run and pass on us with little issue. We are no threat to pick off passes or defend the deep ball. To win at Auburn, we will have to score points on damn near every offensive possession of the game. Our best defense is an offense that scores a bucket load of touchdowns.

What about auburn spreads?

I saw one line for the Jacksonville state game at around 50 points

If State sense of urgency trumps their desperation we can win. We need to get a fast start on both sides to have a chance. This one is truly a mental affair. We are good enough athletically to win. Mental toughness could make the difference.

You know what usually happens to desperate teams when they play a better team? They get beat. Auburn should have been pretty desperate for a good showing last Saturday in Baton Rouge. Guess what? They got blown the 17 out by a team we took down to the wire.

I wish Mullen would just let his hair down and open up the floodgates. I believe that we can humiliate Auburn if we throw caution into the wind and play to win, not to "not lose"!

45-21, and not really near that close, isn't a home-field advantage win.

What are you talking about? We've only played one good offense and we held them to 21 points.

Yep. Lsu scored 21 on us and 45 on auburn. Usm scored 16 on us and have scored 50+ the next 2 weeks (Austin peay and Texas state).

Not bragging at all about holding usm to 16... Just showing they're capable of scoring. Usm scored 56 on Texas state. Fsu scored 59 on Texas state

Really? We are giving up an average of 164 passing yards per game, and 171 rushing yards per game.

Our defense is currently 26th in the country.

I wish Mullen would just play the best rb's we have. It's Germans to say that, but good lord. What else does he have to see....

#1 Senior CB on Mel's Big Board and another CB who will play on Sundays and very athletic LBs who have INTs this year...yeah we're no threat to every pick off a pass.

I wouldn't put any stock in our passing defense numbers. LSU chose not to throw the ball against us and they could've done so at will. We didn't do anything to stop their passing attack. If we had won that game, Miles would be #1 on the hot seat today because he was so one dimensional in that game. He basically allowed us to get back into it.
