There might be some announcements still coming Monday or Tuesday.
Unless a kid announces, the school has time to announce after they are notified. There’s room for a DT and that’s it for now.

There could be one or two more for “known attrition”. If someone is going on medical, leaving the team, hasn’t publicly announced they are in the portal, etc.

There was just 3 or 4 guys who left in the last couple days and then one left on his own not too long ago. I don't think we want much more attrition from this point.

Smothers - I want him to stay but best if he leaves imo
Stepp - medical?
Lynn, Conn - aren't good but we need depth
Pola-Gates - writing on the wall?

you may also have kids dropping a level. I think they dont have to sit if they drop to FCS or lower right?

Think theses dates would be key;
July 9- End of both 8 wk and 1st 5 wk summer sessions.
July 27-1st day of fall camp.

Just a guess, but would think any announcements about medical retirements are going to occur in that 17 day window.

We may not find out anything until they release the roster for fall camp. There is no requirement to announce anything.

Would think Stepp is a candidate for a possible medical if he stays at NU. Their are exceptions for entering the portal after May 1. I was thinking about a guy like Hixson entering the portal, but it appears he'll either start or be on the 2 deep at center. Lynn? Banks? Conn? When looking at the scholarship roster, the obvious candidates for portal don't jump out like they used to. Most of the fat has been trimmed from the upperclassmen part of the roster.

Lynn, Conn, Lynum, Stepp, Clark, Pola-Gates are who still come to my mind.

Javin Wright
Maybe Chris Hickman

The guys who have unfortunately spent more time injured than healthy.
Wondering about Buddha Wright. Not really mentioned so much in the competition for Jojo’s PT. is he physically ready to play?

If I am not mistaken he was diagnosed with blood clots last September and was a limited participant during the spring. I haven't seen anything about additional setbacks.

Well apparently we have more receivers than offensive lineman at the moment. Maybe that's not counting the linemen who are still injured, but still that's an amazing thing to comprehend if you know how Nebraska football used to be played.

Anyway, we can only play 2 or 3 WR's most of the time if we want to do a better job in pass pro. That's a lot of receivers on the sideline. One name I heard was Victor Jones Jr. as someone who may not be back. Hope that's not the case. He hasn't even been in Lincoln very long.

@Tuco Salamanca is correct. There was mention about being excited to bring him back in the fold this summer/fall, and he was at least working out in the spring.
However, he had a shoulder injury previously. Seems he’s been sidelined for majority of his time here, and that’s gotta be hard to come back from when there’s competition all around.

Definitely not impossible, but cards are getting stacked.
