That's pretty damn good on Wednesday night for a team that was 11-5. I think actual attendance was around 9500.

I recall having a hard time getting 8,000 in the place on a Wednesday night for good opponent when we had a better record not too long ago. I think it's pretty obvious that the changes in our AD have increased excitement across the board.

it just always seams like we have let down games on the Wed night games that everyone within 2-3 hours comes to. I would have never thought this team would develop into what they at least appear to be now. I just knew we where going to panic in the second half but we simply put our foot on their neck and didn't let up.

DS had decent seats so I will trust his estimate on the actual attendance.

I would have to agree with the 10,000+ mark. I was ahead of about 3-400 students entering the hump and still had to go sit in a regular season ticket holder's seat because student section was packed. I dont like doing that, but i had to in order to watch us beat bama.

One reason the crowd was so large is because the students came out in full force. My tickets are two sections over from the student section and students were spilling over into our section. I guess the higher enrollment over the past two years is starting to show.

Was there a reason for the high student turn out for this particular game? Marketing by the AD? I assume school being back in session. However, I have seen games in the past, when school was in, that the student section wasn't filled. Which I never understood. What else is there to do on a Wednesday night? With 15K students, we should have 7-8K in students alone for each home game. </p>

I am not that far removed from the University and Student tickets were always to limited when I was there. We have 17,000 students, a coliseum that seats 10,500 and has surpassed that mark on 3 occasions. I'm not sure what number of tickets is devoted to the students but it has always been a pretty tough fight to get tickets. I think the first come first served basis of this year works better than the pre-bought tickets however. While I was in school I waited in line and skipped classes for hours on end to get my pre-bought tickets but I couldnt go to every game. This is the reason student tickets should be first come first serve (to get the most people in attendance each game that actually want to be there.)

This does not affect me now, as I am no longer a student, but I agree with the new policy.

As much as I love the Hump, we have exceded its capacity and did so years ago. We need some more seating and some updated features and accomodations for television crews.

I know this is no where near a priority right now but it has to happen in the years to come

Students did our part last night and came out in full force, many were getting turned away prior to tipoff due to the student section being full good 5-10 minutes before the game even began.

Hell I sit on the opposite corner from the student section and we were about the only people in the entire section that werent students.

is due to the fact that you don't have to go get tickets beforehand. There's people I know that used to be the type that if you asked them if they were going to the game they'd say "Do you have to have ticket?" or "nah...I forgot to go get my ticket." Which really means they are ignorant, lazy pieces of **** who don't give a damn about basketball. Now those same people have no good excuse for not going and nothing better to do at 7:00 on a Wednesday, so they show up.
