With the start of a new year we get the Barron's panel stock picks for 2026. Mario Gabelli is still recommending the Atlanta Braves (Holdings) ..... BATRA or BATRK.

I owned the shares years ago when it was a "tracking stock". I could never figure out exactly what it was that I owned shares of. Then awhile back I gave my shares away for our church pledge and have held another 'play' stock since then.

Mario got me again. So I sold the other stock -- it was an air taxi Uber like service -- and bought back into the Braves.

Note - the company now is a regular corporation.

The point of all this being -- for other posters on our Atlanta Braves Topic Thread I expect you to treat me with the deference I deserve as a part owner of the team.

BTW -- BATRK = ~ $40 / share .... or .... BATRA (voting shares) = ~ $44. Gabelli thinks the team / company will be taken over by some billionaire for ~ $60 / share or more. We'll see.

Heck of a comeback in Denver last night to kick off a 9 game swing out west. Down 5-0 after one inning and then 6-0 only to come all the way back and win 8-6 thanks to a pinch-hit 2-run homer from Money Mike in the 9th.

Also, two solid hits and a sac fly from Riley. Hopefully that will finally get him going.

Acuna and Riley have been nonexistent! Yet, this team is rolling. Best start they every have in the first 35 games, since the mound was moved back to 60'6'"!

Still way too much swing and miss from Riley this weekend but he did have the best series offensively he's had in a while. Hopefully Ronald's hammy heals up quickly and he doesn't have any other problems with it.

Not the best return from Strider yesterday but thankfully the offense and bullpen bailed him out. Kim's rehab stint seems to be off to a good start and it looks like Murphy should be back on this road trip too. Get those guys back and Iglesias and Ronald in the next couple of weeks and the sky's the limit!

I don't think Strider's ever going to get it back unfortunately. He was effective when he could throw 98-99 consistently, and now he's down to 93-95, relying way too much on breaking balls.

Murphy is back and in the lineup tonight. Heim DFAd after a 2 hit, 5 RBI day yesterday. Would be nice if they could trade him for some bullpen or OF help.

Legendary Braves HOF Manager (and GM before Schuerholz) Bobby Cox has passed. His return to Atlanta from Toronto set the stage for what the Braves franchise has become over the last 35+ years.
