one last comment on this... but have you all seen the App that syncs the flash on your smartphone with music? the opening for Marquette is pretty cool. the arena is pitch black --- and the opening music is set and thousands have their phone out w this App opened and the random flashing synced with the music is something to behold.

Not necessarily.. but the connection breeds enthusiasm, a sense of belonging, and more loyalty.
Xavier and Marquette play in a primarily catholic league so there are natural rivalries.
Our rivalries suck. We have changed conferences more than lady Gaga changes costumes.
Combine poor basketball with unfamiliar opponents and you get what we have...
