McGriff and Peter Sirmon both being in the top 20 is absolutely hilarious. Neither has done anything in his entire career to warrant such a salary.

This isn’t accurate for State is it? I don’t think it can be if it shows that Coach Grantham received under 700k this year.

So Grantham left $1.4mil @ Louisville with another two years guaranteed...to come coach for Mullen for under half that?

Hard sell. Sorry.

So for those that don't want to look it all up.

Our Total Assistant Pay is $3,195,000. (Lowest in the SEC)
Todd Grantham: $660,000
John Hevesy & Billy Conzales: $450,000
Greg Knox: $425,000
Terrell Buckley: $360,000
Brian Baker: $300,000
Ron English: $300,000
Brett Elliott: $160,000
D.J. Looney: $90,000
And Strength Coach: Nick Savage: $150,000

That's pretty damn bad compared to all the others.

It was said on the other board that what is listed is what the school paid, but doesn't include Bulldog Club contributions. Grantham was getting another $500k from them.

The Crime dawg is an appropriate name for McGriff. It was a crime to cash his checks.

But what about the comparison to TSUN?
Seems like MSU is almost a million less within the State of Mississippi.
Their Total Assistant Pay is $4,075,000
How the hell is that????!?

My understanding is the salaries listed are not total compensation. That is just what they receive from the university. The Bulldog Club and other alumni foundations / trusts provide the balance of what is paid. Grantham I know was making at least $1.2 -$1.3 million, because I renember when his contract was announced. The same database above would probably show Mullen only making like $1.3 million or something, when we all know he was making around $4.8 million total. Some of the lower level assistants probably had a marginal amount of additional income from those same sources, but HC and coordinators get a big bump. I want to say that Hev and Gonzales were probably pushing $700-$750k in total compensation as well.

$1.7 million would have made you the 19th highest paid college coach a decade ago, coming just ahead of Bobby Bowden.
