Hey guys, your comments have been awesome! The surgery was yesterday, it went well. If anyone is familiar, which I wasn't until this, the surgeon did a spinal fusion of T-3 to L-2 with rods on both sides. This allows for flexibility.
Our daughter basically slept yesterday, which of course was expected. Just got back to the hotel, she's spending one more day in ICU, but the nursing staff is very pleased with her progress. Under their advice, we have not stayed overnight. She should be moved to a room to spend her remaining time. They got her out of bed 5 times so she could walk, and she did great. Two times she walked the entire floor!
We still have a ways to go, but my little princess is showing some fight.
If anyone happens to not know much about the Shriners, it is an amazing organization, and the entire medical staff is ALL about the kids health.
I'm not telling anyone what to do here, but if you have some extra money to donate to a worthy group, you won't find many better than them.
On a side note about Philadelphia, I pass Temple University every day, and I smile thinking about Duke beating them back when K was building his program.
Once again guys, thank you so much for your support, your words prove to me there is no better Board than DI.
