I’m kinda surprised that ANY agent would give him money at this time. There is no GUARANTEE to even make it to the league. His shooting is not any better than mine.. pretty damn stupid agent if you ask me..
How are you trying to argue against my point that this isnt a good look? I dont understand that. Again, I dont really care what other fan bases say, as I've said 3 times already but it draws unnecessary attention. You're a smart guy, you know this is not a good look. Anytime a 5 star athlete posts a video like this, it raises red flags. How many D1 athletes have that kind of money? They sure as hell cant earn it since they cant make hardly any money. So, where did it come from? The perception is that it was given to him by someone or some company.
So, it makes no sense to say he shouldn't have that kind of money? Really? Is it impossible that a kid can have that money legitimately? Although highly unlikely, it is possible but 9 times out of 10 when a 18-19 D1 Blue Blood player flashes that kind of money, it's not because mommy and daddy gave it to him. We all know that and suggesting anything else is just ridiculous. Again, I'm not sure how anyone could argue that. If it happened at Duke, we sure as hell wouldnt believe it for a SINGLE second. NOT A SINGLE POSTER would believe it was legit.
It's a selfish thing to do and whether it's legit or not, perception is ALWAYS going to be that it is not legit. It draws so much unnecessary attention. Kinda shocked that I have to actually explain this point because if this was any other player at any other school, not a single person on here would try and justify it. Not a single poster would! They would hang the kid out to dry and yet some are trying to say....oh, no big deal. Come on, man. Dont be ridiculous.
As clean a program as Cal has run here, I'd bet anything that he is absolutely furious over this. And anyone that is not blinded by blue fan glasses can understand exactly why he would be.

I’m going out Ashton’s jacket as a good sign nothing improper is going on. That’s his jacket he’s been wearing all season. When I spent some time with the team in December after the UL game he was wearing that same jacket. My point is that if Ashton were gaining money improperly he would have a new jacket by now. Probably a new jacket every week. He’s s kid he acts like a kid he loves his jacket he’s not doing improper stuff to gain that cash. I honestly doubt it’s his or that is all real. It all boils down to perception for me. The guy is a very good kid very nice polite he loves our fans. I may want maxey to run the show bc Ashton is struggling mentally but he is a good person who is a little immature. I cannot stress to you compared to other players and other UK teams this team has some of the best character I’ve witnessed in our players. That’s why this incident with Ashton is bothersome. These guys all want one another to succeed Ashton just got away from the collective mindset of the team.
Of course Cal wouldn’t be happy. The whole athletic department wouldn’t be happy. They’ll deal with it. I’m a fan. To me it’s bull **** till facts are presented and verified. It Hagans did anything questionable, they’ll nuke him. I’m entirely comfortable with that. They manage that. I don’t.
Beyond that, what fans say from other programs is entirely irrelevant. Why would I give a damn what they say or think? Most of them that come here support filth in the first place.

Yeah, of course, I know that. It's plain stupid period. Just saying there's a lot of speculation on here with very few facts and kids do stupid things.
UK is making this somewhat worse by saying that it won't release further information because of "student privacy". This doesn't seem like a private matter, because Hagans posted the video on the internet for the whole world to see. UK should be transparent and disclose the facts. For example, if UK told us it wasn't Ashton's money, we wouldn't be guessing about how he made the cash. It almost seems like UK is hiding something by claiming it can't provide further info due to "student privacy" concerns. I'd like to think that nothing wrong happened, and the story would go away quicker if UK just told us what happened. Also, I think UK should provide some coaching to the players about smart use of social media.

Some seem to think it's not real money or not all of it. You can buy thousands of what looks really real like they use in music videos online for like $30. Some breaking down the video and saying it's real money with blank paper mixed in LOL. U6 fans online calling for an investigation LMFAO. It seems like an old video that a U6 fan released today to look new following Ashton missing the FL game probably because of the arguing, really crappy timing and still a bad look.

No but seriously if you blow up the still at 13 seconds you can clearly see Ashton’s razor burn. He’s still using the same razor he was using when he was playing earlier in the year. No way he wouldn’t have a new one by now if that was real cash. The little things matter in the CI investigation.

Why do I feel like Hagans was being petulant and saying "if I can't get what I want, then you're going down too..."? Why else would anyone create this kind of attention at a moment when he's stinking up the joint with his play? If I'm Cal going with Maxey at PG the rest of the way, and sit Hagans whenever he plays selfish. If the team suffers for it, so be it but the team has to come first IMO.

it was an incredibly stupid thing to do; we all agree on that. But if there was nothing illegal, or against NCAA rules (not necessarily the same thing) then I say forgive and move on. But Hagans needs to be watched carefully...
All I saw was it had been addressed. No more explanation forth coming. Well that brings more questions than answers. I guess we will all know Friday. But to me the university has done a piss poor job on this.
