Anthony was at a game two weeks ago and I got to say hi to him and congratulate him on his national championship, as well as his trip to the White House. Glad to see him having been invited to speak to the bball teams it is special to have a national champion in any sport speak to one's team. Ant said he is currently training for the Olympics, but perhaps his training involves some different aspects than Suriano's. Either way, what a treat it is to have two national champions as Rutgers alum.
Being a SP native, you can guess how I feel about Anthony. He is a great guy who still makes time to help the young wrestlers of South Plainfield. A total class act.
Nice idea by Pikiell, and I think it also speaks to a strong relationship he has built with his fellow coach, Goodale. Great move to cross-pollinate athletes from different sports. It's one team at the end of the day...go RU!
I think this was wonderful for Anthony to address the team. He certainly is a winner and Coach knows all of the right buttons to push.
