Lots of good points in that. Especially about the base running. It has been a disaster for all 7 years.

First, proofread number 2.

Secondly, Amen to number 5. Especially, that horrible turf. Turf Grass is one thing, but the part that's supposed to be dirt (base paths, surrounding the plate) is an abomination. I've tried to withhold judgement on that, for I trust Cohen. That experiment obviously failed.

Thirdly, be sure to come back and respond to some of these comments. If you're just floating things on SPS to get traffic, I'm pretty sure D@A frowns upon that.

I agree that sac bunts are a big issue. Keep in mind, we only see the successful sac bunt attempts as given away outs. If we converted 75% of our sac bunt attempts, that's another 10 outs we more or less gave away with nothing to show for it.

Thanks for the proofreading tip. I don't get paid to do this, and it shows.

Our school grows grass! And, I think we have the worst infield grass in the SEC, and we replaced it before the SEC schedule began. Seems our grounds crew has issues too.

Not always, 57. The attempts, even the successful ones, when we bunt with no outs and a .343 hitter at the plate in the first 3 innings is easily questionable. I'm not against bunting, but when it will most benefit us at the proper time.

I agree. I'm just saying we successfully converted 41 sac bunts this year, but that number doesn't fully represent the the true amount of outs we gave away.

Pitching (#5)

Simply put, you have got to have the horses. You cannot teach a nag to win the derby.

Recruit!

If it's that simple to do.... If they are really good, they go pro, if they are sort of marginal, then we are in a recruiting war.

We are not that far off,
Also, Bring in some good hitters, and stop over baking the cake.

I am all for sac bunts in the right situation. Tie game in the 8th inning and you get a leadoff double , yes bunt that go ahead run to third with 1 out. Same situation in the first 3 innings , I don't favor the sac bunt so much.
