I was looking through some sites that sell firearms and the amount of available AR and AK platform rifles is lower than I have ever seen. Palmetto State currently has 0 complete AR-15 and AK rifles available. They have only 1 AR-10 available. Sportsman's Guide only have the high ticket ARs left. Good Luck trying to find a Sig Tread. I guess everyone is getting prepared.

With as many “panic buying” sessions that we have had over the last 12 years, it is hard to imagine that people aren’t already “prepared”.

I guess though, every day someone else turns 21 or has an “awakening” of some sort.

Right now, I am panic buying gym equipment so I haven’t been paying attention to anything gun related.

Prepared for?

To protect what they own when the idiots who are burning down cities decide they want to come loot and destroy their **** the next time there is some sort of injustice that has zero to do with the property owners that are having their stuff destroyed.

All you need is a 22 Cal riffle. It is cheap, the ammo is cheap and light. You can buy 1000's of rounds cheaply and carry 1000's of rounds with no problem. Most of all a 22cal will kill you.

Most (99%) AR-15s are 22-caliber rifles.

one day I witnessed and I hear all other days this week.... Bullfrog Corner gun and pawn has had a line all day, every day. I'm sure they have limited occupancy due to covid but.... I've been in there a few times over the years and not seen as many people inside as waiting outside the other day.

Palmetto State is my "go to" for good, cheap stuff. Highly underrated product.

Get an AR-10. It will reach out and touch someone and has the knockdown power needed. You can also deer hunt with it.

Does that mean you're sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch waiting for the riots to come to Noxapater?

There have been a lot of panic buys, right? I became aware of them since Obama came into office. Total coincidence there.**
The guns still haven't been taken like so many claimed.
And this latest round of panic buying is interesting since based on articles it started due to covid(why?) And has just continued to due riots.

Really ? Guess that's why it sush a popular deer hunting rifle. If you are shooting people with a 22 you better be a crack shot.

Sorry, I got the town wrong. As was stated often way back during the coronavirus, "you can't live your life in fear."

Caliber is a measure of the bore diameter. Go mic one and get back to me.

Caliber is NOT what is printed on the box of ammo.

22 LR is generally .222 caliber, whereas 223 Rem/5.56/223 Wylde are .224 caliber.

We’ve had several break ins lately nearby.....one involved a home invasion of a 16 year old girl at home by herself... luckily she was able to lock herself inside her bathroom and called 911... the perp was captured on Ring camera and arrested a few days later.

and they said 30 round magazines are unnecessary....current events show exactly why it is necessary.

I absolutely love the AR I got from them. With just the 1x Vortex StrikeFire it does good groupings at 100. I changed the muzzle flash guard to a muzzle brake to help with the rise and it holds on sight shot after shot.

Rifles are too bulky, unless you can see the zombie mob coming down the street. Keep your revolver close at hand.
I like my Ruger 22 magnum LCR. Good stopping power
and doesn't jam like my LCP.

My local store is completely out of ARs today. They got broken into early this morning by a few upstanding taxpayers and they took all of the ARs and Glocks

Which break did you go with? I've looked at a battle comp but keep talking myself out of it.

The uptick during Obama’s terms was from people rushing out due to him and lawmakers discussing gun bans and such. Obviously the legislation never happened nor did any EOs. Doesn’t mean the rush wasn’t warranted and unfounded as you insinuated.

Fair enough. I'm all for home protection. I just don't really think recent events are cause for concern for 99.99% of Americans' safety. And I'm aware that you weren't implying you had increased protection due to recent events. I hope your family/property stays safe from whoever was doing the break ins.
