...my daughter was a member of the Army National Guard unit in Batesville, MS. The unit sponsored the ACT test for soldiers who were looking to qualify for college or for others who were taking the ACT to improve their original score. She had taken the ACT in high school and scored 24 and was retaking the test at the Batesville NG location. Just as they were about to start, in walked about 6 really big strong-looking black guys wearing red and blue sweat shirts and sweat pants. She said they were huge!! They stood up at the desk with the proctor appearing to get ready to sign in, when another younger white guy comes in and tells them to come with him to a different room down the hallway. After she finished her test, she asked the proctor who those men were. The proctor replied they were some Ole Miss football recruits. Then she asked why they didn't stay to take the test. The proctor said they were taking the ACT test in a separate room with their own proctor. My daughter didn't think anything of it and told me about it later. I put 2+2 together and figured......."so that's how they are getting them qualified". My daughter said there were plenty of seats available in the main room but they all went together to the other room with the younger white guy. So, while you can't say what happened for sure, you can probably safely say....somebody was in the "people-heppin' business". My daughter told me this happened for several years running while she was there. And who knows to this day if it is still happening. But what she told me was fact!

Red and blue sweatshirts? C'mon I'm not buying it. Those had to be some NWCC guys or something. Ole Miss would require ascots and button ups.

That's not unusual at all--

especially for kids trying to maximize their score.

I like how you humble bragged about your daughter making a 24. What'd she make on the English section?

No, just once during that time span

....she was a NG soldier at Batesville during that time. She is still in the NG, but at a different location.

Thanks....and it was reported to the NCAA about 3-4 years ago. They took her testimony rather quickly as they told her an investigation was already open involving similar issues.
