What is the going rate for an above average defensive coordinator in the $EC these days? I was impressed with Arnett this year. His job performance was the best on State’s football coaching staff.
After the end around Steele and the Auburn boosters ran on Gus, I wouldn’t expect too many head coaches will be lining up for Steele’s services anytime soon
If the salary numbers reported on Arnett are true, it’s not going to be on Cohen if he leaves. State has ponied up big time.
It’s pretty refreshing to see State make a power move to keep Arnett and Ole Miss make a power move to keep Lebby. Obviously I’d rather Arnett leave, and y’all would rather Lebby leave, but at least the days of us letting elite coordinators and assistants leave over $75-100K are gone.
