Lt Gen Todd Semonite, head of the Army Corps, just gave a very good presentation on the hospital centers they've set up, like the Javits Center.

Once he finished, there were questions by the press.

Then, of all things, Trump had him comment on the border wall with Mexico. Jeez. Not related to Covid 19 at all. I hate when he jumps into campaign mode. Stick to the subject.

Is this the first one of his press conferences you have watched? They consist of patting himself on back, blaming everyone else in the world, including Republican governors, for anything that he is asked about, and attacking women.

It appears campaign mode was never turned off from over 4 years ago since this is typical.

Javits Center? I found some morning reading for tomorrow, thanks!

Just think, you have to put up with it for 4 more years, too.

No politician ever turns off campaign mode. Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden, Clinton, Romney. All of them campaign no matter where they are in the election cycle. Politicking.

Since Trump fancies himself as a deal maker, maybe the press will be willing to turn off campaign-against-him mode for the first time in four years, and he will respond in kind? That would be a tremendous victory for all of us.

I don't watch much news. Example of his attack on women?

He told a female reporter that she was a terrible reporter after she accused him of letting people die. Therefore he attacks women.

Well, he's a proven equal opportunity insulter of reporting capabilities so it can't be that.

Both are big, beautiful, and fabulous. Army Corp has done a fantastic job, wonderful people working. They've got some of the best engineering minds in the world.

So I can see how it's easy for Trump to get a wall & hospital center confused.

Well, to be fair, he gets confused a lot. According to Trump, Governor Cuomo is a friend of his and is doing a phenomenal job, but he's also a partisan who overstated the need for ventilators for political reasons. Or President Xi lied to us about the virus, but he's a friend of mine and has been transparent, but now I'm not happy with China.

So his position on things tend to change with the latest developments.

Has anyone given even one minute of thought as to how this crises would have been handled (or not) of Hilary was in charge? It would be a disaster of epic proportions, far, far beyond what we are experiencing because neither she nor any liberal democrat would have a clue as to what to do accept blame Republicans. Geez people . . . . .

No, I watch the briefing every day. Trump is a terrible speaker and he does indeed pat himself on the back.

He's congratulated Republican governors, but also has congratulated Democrat governors and congressmen.

I've never seen him attack women because they're women; he attacks them becuase they are exceedingly rude and should be thrown out of the room. Same goes for the male "journalists" that talk over him while he's talking, make accursatory remarks, etc.

I don't really care for Trump, but he was and remains the best of the two choices we had 4 years ago.

Rocket, I suspect much of the "self-patting" is a defense mechanism against the absurd and numerous attacks he gets from the MSM and liberal politicians. I don't blame the guy one bit for regularly tooting his on horn, given the industrial-sized, unjustified load of crap tossed on him every day.

He probably figures it's necessary to counter-balance the "Morning Joe's & Rachel Madcows" of the media, not to mention the Pelosi's, Shumer's, Water's, Shiff's, etc, etc.
