Just was looking at standings and noticed the SEC has looked pretty good so far as a league, except for Arkansas. There are only 4 teams that have lost OOC games so far (A&M to Clemson, Tennessee to West Virginia, and Vandy at Notre Dame - all three were underdogs) and Arkansas has lost to two to non power 5 schools (1 was on road but they gave up 25 unanswered points to a team that lost all three of their other games.) I knew they were gonna be down as the rebuild post Bert but just they are terrible.

I put some on the money line last week for North Texas. Could be some money to be won on Ark this year especially if they mail it in.

They play Ole Miss and Vandy at home, so they have at least a puncher’s chance in two conference games, even though they won’t be favored in either. But 4-8 is their best case scenario. Could easily be looking at 2-10.

Our players would rather whine about being booed and laugh and joke around on the sidelines while down by 30 than play football. No leaders on this team. There’s a serious issue with the culture of the program and inside the locker room. Morris needs to do a lot of culling of the roster this offseason.

We’ve been there. I once watched us lose to Maine and then get blown out at home by UAB within the span of three weeks. It gets better. Probably won’t happen immediately, and it may not even happen under Morris, but you guys won’t suck forever. Respectable program with underrated resources. You guys will be back.

17 it took years for us to recover

and included another coaching change.

I'm not sure the Pig's new coach would fog a mirror.

Probably well earned. Not sure the defense should get an F though. They held UNT to 3/16 on third down and allowed just 3 YPC and 6 YPA. SIX interceptions and a punt return TD is why they scored 44 points.

What point does Morris just need to bench ****** seniors to play underclassmen? Did Morris change the offensive and defensive schemes? I know Bert wanted Big10 football but does Morris run a spread offense? Did he change anything on defense like us changing from a 3-4 to a 4-2-5 this year?

We should play the younger players, but the problem is we only had room to sign 16 players in last year's recruiting class so it's a smaller freshman group than usual. It's one of the reasons the class was ranked so low. We ran a 4-3 defense two years ago, switched to the 3-4 last year, then Morris switched back to the 4-3 this year. And the offense uses a lot more RPOs but 6'7, 260 pound Cole Kelley isn't quick enough to run it and we don't have any speed at WR for Morris to take the deep shots he likes.

I would expect us to move to one of the freshman QBs for good at some point later in the year. If KJ Jefferson's commitment sticks he could have a legit shot to start as a freshman as well.

Really tough situation for you guys. Bert should have been gone a couple years ago. And fitting his players into Morris's offense is trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

The Bert hire was worse than Croom. Yeah, they had the mess in 2012 but had been a top 10 team in 2011 and 2010. Then they pay Bert $4-million a year (and are still paying him that) to have 1 decent season out of 5 where they won the Liberty bowl. What a disaster.
