When he was making the money he was making here with not a care in the world what the results were, yes, I have a problem with that. I would much rather have a guy that’s working his *** off regardless of the results.
Cal hadn't had an Acuff (or a Malik Thomas) here for a bit. He still was getting good players but not top tier X-Factors like he had early on. The "prize" recruit of Wagner is still playing and relegated to a sub. Our most promising players were relegated to the bench in favor of his favorites. If Cal can get 1 or 2 studs (that he is willling to ride with) he can do some things. Unfortunately, he wasn't getting the players he needed at the end.

EXACTLY. WHy are we concerned about Cal and Arkansas.......that's the least of our problems right now lol.
The guy won an awful lot here (even in his latter years here) for a guy that did not care what the results were.
Everyone likes to point to his comments about the SEC tournament and not wanting to play in it.........but yet dude won that thing 6 times here.
So yeah I find it hard to believe the guy with the massive ego did not care about winning basketball games.
In still not a fan of the offense that Cal runs but the Vandy offense is creative and fun to watch.
Cal begged to coach here. Indicated it was his dream destination. His first few years confirmed that. We all knew he wasn’t some great bench coach. But he landed great players and got them to play hard. That was usually enough. Somewhere along the line he decided he didn’t want to put the time in. To prepare his guys, to demand they play hard. And he began being held hostage by players and handlers just to land them. He played inferior guys over others because of promises made. He thought he was above any criticism and grew to hate the fan base. He sniffed other jobs repeatedly. He sniffed one too many times and now he’s gone. I’m not happy with where the program is. But I sure don’t miss him.

Agree. I'm still glad Cal is gone. From a perception standpoint, we absolutely had to make great hire with immediate success. Mitch didn't understand that. Apparently he lacks any sense of competitiveness. We are currently in the worst case scenario because of him.
Cal just drifted off course. Forgot why he came here. It was time.
I want Arkansas to win. Anything to put more pressure on Pope and get him out of here.

It's okay to admit that we downgraded when we hired Mark Pope. Mistakes happen. Now it's time to admit it and get rid of this clown at the end of the year.
Pope isn’t getting the players he needs at UK either but Cal is at Arkansas. What is the difference?

Arkansas winning would hopefully move the Hogs past Kansas and into that final 4 seed and move the Jayhawks down to a 5. That is a good thing to me, so I actually hope Cal wins.
