Jimmy, the producer on Full Ride, mentioned that Rick Neuheisel should be at the Top of Arkansas search.

Rick took his teams to Bowl Games 9 of his 12 years as a coach.

What are your thoughts on Neuheisel as Head Ball Coach?

I'm all for it! A third different offensive style in 4 years will keep Arkansas in the cellar for another 2-3 years.

Also coaches out of the college game for extended periods generally fail.

He'd be an improvement over Morris. That's about all I can say though. Extremely mediocre coach. I hope they do hire him though. Make things a lot easier for us than a truly competitive Arkansas program.

If I'm Arkansas I'm hiring Mike Norvell if there isn't an issue off the field that is a dealbreaker. As a State fan I hope they don't hire him.

Just go full blown double birds to everyone with this top 3: norvell (guess he has something hurting him behind the scenes), freeze, and art briles (playing about this one). Really though, I'd be interested in norvell, freeze, and Dave clawson if I were them

Leach is about to get rich or turn down serious money.

If I were them I'd offer Gus 10 million first, then go after Leach. But it seems Leach is their guy. I'd hate to see it because I like Leach but hate Arkansas. Good news is it'll probably take 2-3 years before they are even bowl eligible no matter who the coach is. And Leach's air raid can be busted up with the good defensive line, which tends to be common in the SEC.

Arkansas and Ole Miss might get into a bidding war for him.

If I was Freeze I'd go all Joel Osteen at an Arkansas revival somewhere. Be seen in the state. Get people talking.

It doesn't sound like a lot of the big Hog boosters are too thrilled on the idea of Leach getting the job.Just going by what is being said on that Hog site.Malzahn and Kiffin seem to be the leaders right now.

Fixed this part for you.
And Leach's air raid Moorhead's RPO can be busted up with the good defensive line, which tends to be common in the SEC.

They are pursuing Mike Leach currently.

Mike Leach is not going to Arkansas, maybe 10 years ago but not now. At his age stepping into a total rebuild in a more competitive conference? Would take a minimum of 2-3 years to get his system going. Arky is spending time pursing Leach is a waste of time.

Are you insinuating that I am wrong about Leach's Air Raid? Ole Miss 2009 says hello. Also those juggernaut Kentucky teams coached by Hal Mumme that peaked at 7-4 (one year) and bottomed out at 2-9. So if Arkansas desires Nutt and Bielema type results, hire the Pirate.

Not sure what Sloppy Joe's offense has to do with anything.

Good lord, man. No. Just making a joke that our coach has the same problem. I've posted many times that Leach would fail in the SEC. Honestly, his actual accomplishments in the Big 12 & PAC 12 aren't all they're hyped up to be anyway. He's a pretty mediocre coach.

If he was willing to take the Tennessee job just two years ago, it's entirely plausible that he may be willing to take the Arkansas job.

Yeah. This way, if it turns out you're full of ****, all you do is say we now know who the mystery guy is.

I’m still going with the folks I know in NWA that most want to get Malzahn and expect there to be a deal worked out with Auburn if he does indeed lose to both GA and Bama.

If not Malzahn, they want Norvell, if he doesn’t have dead hookers, cocaine, grenade launchers, arsenic and bundles of cash in his trunk. If they do get Norvell, Hugh Freeze will be the next Memphis coach!

I would probably take Nutt results right now. Nutt only had 2 losing seasons in 10 years. Overall he was much better than Bielema.

Pastor Freeze was spotted headed to Fayetteville on a motorized hospital bed, selling snake oil in small towns along the way, with his wife by his pretending to still be married to him.

The rumors up here from what I’ve seen are what everyone has seen with the bigger names like
Leach
Gus
Norvell (personal issues similar to Petrino may keep this from happening)

But the one that a lot of people are talking about it Pittman the OL coach at Georgia. He coached at Arkansas and loved it here and had a falling out with Burt and ended up leaving. Rumor is he has always wanted to come back and Kirby Smart was asked a question recently about Pittman as a head coach and Smart had high praise for him. I could definitely see that happening.

Also the App State guy. He’s from Arkansas and wouldn’t cost a ton. He also has more SEC wins than Morris had in 2 years.

The hilarious part of this search is that a good portion of people in the state want to bring back Nutt or Petrino... that’s how desperate they are.

Bielema would have gotten better. His teams were very well coached. The problem was talent.

Don't really agree with that. He underachieved big time with the 2014 team, and a little with the 2015 team as well. I mean all of these players from the 2014 team ended up getting drafted:

Brandon Allen (Broncos starting QB with Flacco out)
Jonathan Williams (RB)
Alex Collins (RB, led the Ravens in rushing in 2017)
Denver Kirkland (OL)
Frank Ragnow (first round pick OL)
Sebastian Tretola (OL)
Hunter Henry (Chargers starting TE)
AJ Derby (TE)
Jeremy Sprinkle (Redskins backup TE)
Trey Flowers (all-pro NFL DE)
Darius Philon (DT)
Martrell Spaight (LB, led the SEC in tackles)
Deatrich Wise (Patriots starting DE)

Reminds me a little bit of Moorhead last year because we had the 10th best defense in the country that year and went 7-6. Almost beat Alabama that year as well. He had some really good players but his recruiting fell off toward the end and I think he got lazy because we had a big drop off toward the end of 2016 and into 2017.

I agree with most of that. I wasn't following closely like I do MSU so it's hard to pin point what caused the talent drop off. It does seem like his first class was his best.
