Your take is off ... Arkansas doesn't claim former Kentucky players at all . We laugh when they rep Arkansas gear causes it pisses off Kentucky . We completely understand these high profile kids Cal gets is because of Cal and not Arkansas .

Kentucky fans always thought it was because of "the brand" Cal got all that talent . It was never about the brand but about World Wide Wess and CAL .Once Wess was out of the picture the NBA OAD Machine was built .

Good thing for Arkansas is this is Cals last stop so we wont have to watch Acuff or any other former Razorbacks repping other schools
Lets see .... At this moment Arkansas has the #2 recruiting ranking . Pope has to wait for the transfer portal open to find kids that want to play for him.

Kentucky no doubt has always been a national brand and that coupled with Cal for sure helped BUT Kentucky never had that amount of talent before Cal and now after .

Rich fat washed up Cal has the Razorbacks with a double bye and a 4-5 seed in the big dance ... Is that elite ? No but its still better than what Pope has done this year at the mighty Kentucky .

This years offense is also the most efficient in Cals entire career . Not bad for a fat washed up Cal .

Ask any Razorback fan if they would take Muss over Cal and every single one will tell you they were glad for what Muss did in restoring the program but would take Cal all day long . Muss about to miss his third straight NCAA Tournament btw .

I have no doubt once Cal is done coaching he will end up in Rupp unless he is so jaded by the way he was treated by the fanbase (a legit point) . If Cal didn't want to leave he wouldn't have . Remember that lifetime contract he walked away from lol .

Arkansas had the most watched reg season game against Duke this year which is the most in the last 30 years and are also the 5th most watched team . Not bad for a nothing program .
I would totally agree with your takes..except for one thing. When Calipari was at UK Richmond, Knox, Wagner, Brazile, and any other players in their 2nd or 3rd years would be playing in NBA or G-league, they would not be at Arkansas or UK either when he was here. With the NIL those players stayed as they were making close to as much as they would have professionally...and before you mention they might not be ready, it did not matter at UK, they were one and done. I personally have met him at several UK camps and he is a very personable guy and has done lots of great things and some not so good(Kneeling for our Country's flag) put a end to my attending UK games, too many have sacrificed and died under that flag so we could be free for me to swallow that) if those players had left as they did here you can see the difference that would make and that is why you are successful with them. We all still remember losing to Oakland and St Peters and K-State in the NCAA tourney. I tip my hat to you for your friendly rebuttals and as I said above I do agree with most of what you said.

It’s not about the fans of any team. My wife has family in Arkansas. The state has the dumbest people I have ever been around. Sorry this triggered you.
You’re on a Kentucky board. A fanbase predominantly in a state that’s considered one of the most poorly educated in the country. Arkansas is also near the bottom of the education ladder, but it’s still ridiculous to throw stones from our own rickety glass house.

I really don’t understand the point of crapping on other people and their homes because some fans of a school bother you. It’s pretty hypocritical and sounds like something Indiana fans usually do when they can’t back up their words with their team’s performances.

But it’s not shocking when we’re quickly falling off the same cliff Indiana did back in the 90s.
Agreed I'm not talking about the state of Arkansas or it's people, I'm almost entirely talking about the online/twitter portion of the fanbase (which is the worst part of any fanbase and doesn't reflect real, normal people.)

A 3 seed and a 2 seed in his last 3 years is falling off?

We have not had a 1 seed in 10 years. Most of that was Cal. He was like 1-5 in his last 5 sec tournaments and hadn’t made it out of the first weekend since 2019.

We are currently in our longest stretch wothout at least a 1 seed or a final four post probation and maybe ever and again, Cal is responsible for most of that.

Yes, he fell off quite drastically. We simply werent on the same level as the other perennial contenders anymore. Cal was and is no longer an Elite coach. He is a GOOD coach. But if your aspirations are a championship or to compete for championships hes not the guy anymore and hasn’t been for a long time now.

The reason Duke vs Arkansas was so highly rated was because of all the Duke and Kentucky fans (watching Calipari) on thanksgiving. You have no idea how much of a third wheel you actually are. You are a random, obscure program caught in the middle and thinking it's about you. It's not at all.

It wasnt just highly rated but the MOST watched regular season college basketball game in the last 30 years . Duke and Arkansas are both top 5 most watched teams in 2025/2026 . By your logic then Duke and Kentucky fans must be watching all the Razorback games .

Razorback fans don't walk around thinking we are in the Blue Blood category but for yall to try and act like were Ole Miss is laughable .

Your take is off considering Kentucky and Arkansas are not comparable programs. not even slightly. So you don't get to say players only wanted to play for Cal at Kentucky just like they only want to play for Cal at Arkansas. Many, many players say Kentucky is among their dream schools but not very many say that about Arkansas. The same could probably be said for Arkansas in baseball over Kentucky. But you do not get to say "Arkansas and Kentucky are essentially the same to a recruit and the difference is Cal." And the vast majority of UK fans understand that these were 1 and done players who have been in the league for 5-15 years. Of course they aren't thinking about UK all the time but they have absolutely nothing to do with Arkansas. And Cal has earned the right to recruit high profile players at other schools now but make no mistake Cal was not a juggernaut recruiter before Kentucky, obviously, and Pope is just a bad recruiter/negotiator, nobody argues that. It's actually extremely narcissistic and crazy for Arkansas fans, like yourself, to think Kentucky had nothing to do with Calipari's recruiting, despite the fact that his NBA production increased 10x at Kentucky compared to Memphis and Umass. Like "a good recruiter going to a blue blood definitely had nothing to do with him all the sudden getting all the best recruits year after year"?

It's also very sneaky and disingenuous to leave out the part about NIL which was not a thing when Kentucky was racking up No. 1 recruiting classes year after year but now Cal and other schools are able to use that to draw recruits away from the traditional blue bloods to give extra incentive for recruits to go to Arkansas. And you do not get to talk about "brand" in basketball. There is a mountain of evidence that Kentucky, the literal winningest program in all of college basketball, with the #1 rated fanbase by EVERY media outlet/person very much so has an international brand that helps drive the sport.
I am not an oblivious idiot and comparing the 2 programs . When Cal got to Kentucky along with world wide wes feeding him the best talent in the country it went up another level . Was Kentucky a part of that ? Absolutely but Kentucky never had that much talent before Cal and now after . If it was just " the brand" Pope would be raking in all the top talent (high school and transfers ) especially with a 22 million dollar budget .

That is a totally fair point about NIL but when Arkansas recruits have been interviewed the theme has been I have always wanted to play for Cal. It also should be noted that Duke and Kansas dont seem to bothered by NIL and High School recruiting . It takes " the brand" and the coach and by the sentiment on this board that Arkansas is a nothing program then what does that say about Cal ? Although in just the last few years we have had Isiah Joe , Jaylen Williams, Moses Moody , Anthony Black , Jordan Walsh and Nick Smith jr before Cal arrived .

My entire point is not that Arkansas is a bad basketball program. My point is if you win talk trash all you want, like every school, but it's the weird and bizarre other stuff like claiming Kentucky players which I have seen many Arkansas fans do.
