They like basketball and haven't had any real success in nearly 30 years, so it's pretty inevitable that any glimmer is seized and amplified.

And they hate and envy Kentucky for good reasons. It always seemed even when they would have a moment of national success, Kentucky would be there to diminish it and then eclipse it.

* The first big success for Arkansas was the 1978 Final Four. Kentucky beat them and claimed the title.

* In the early 1990s they surged, but never got over the hump in the SEC tourney.
* Even when they had their program's great success in 94 and 95 with a title and a Runner-Up finish, they couldn't win the SEC Tournament - Kentucky did both years.
* And quickly Kentucky eclipsed that run, with a Three-peat in the FInal game and two titles right after the Arkansas run.

Think about that - the two greatest years in Arkansas basketball history are 1994 and 1995. The very next year the 1996 Kentucky team is historically good and those Arkansas teams are totally overshadowed. Then Kentucky returns to the Finals the next year and wins it all in 98.

So, they are jealous of what they can never be.

Live in Little Rock and have heard no mention of us not having our two guards.
I used to kind of admire their over abundance of confidence until the year Archie Goodwin played up there and the first play of the game he drove down the lane, was clothes-lined…a flagrant foul…was not called that way, and the crowd gave roaring approval. That was my
last day of any positive thoughts about UA. I don’t know the exact number but we have beaten them something like 5 out of last 8 or 9 in football and they think are superior to us in that sport.

I agree with what you are saying but you know we will also charge 4 or 5 times this game. Blocks will be called charges today, the refs swallow their whistles and somebody from Arkansas will have a career day. I just hope we have somebody that can get the ball to the bigs. If there is one thing I do know, historically they have been allowed to slap and grab and hold at Bud Walton more so than any other arena in the SEC.

I actually appreciate the Razorback fans and their enthusiasm. They love the game and support their team, always have. I wish more SEC teams were like them…and that seems to be changing for the good.

My personal interactions with Razorback fans have usually been pleasant. However, that fanbase is running its mouth all over the internet on various platforms this week. I do applaud their passion for basketball and will admit they have a nice squad this year.

As it relates to this game, this is THE game for them and just another game for UK. Business as usual in the SEC.

2020 Cal got run from the game to give Arky a brief lead but Kentucky pretty much dominated that game.

The most hated college basketball program and fans in the entire sport, the Kentucky Wildcats. And. It. Isn't. Even. Close.


This is what opposing teams do when Kentucky comes in to town. White outs, black outs, pizza parties, crowds gathering at 7am for a 2pm non-ESPN gameday crew game, you name it. Things like these don't happen for Duke, Carolina, Kansas like they do regularly when Kentucky comes to town.


Just another reason why this is the greatest program in college basketball history- bar none.

Outside of UK, Arkansas cares more about basketball than any SEC team. There are idiot fans and good fans in every fan base. UT by far have the worst fans in the SEC followed closely by Auburn.

Hope we play again, too. Would love it. We have the number two class in the country with two five stars and finna add a third in Anthony Black. We'll be alright next year. Not predicting a victory in RUPP but we will be a top ten team.
