Fans bitching about the 1ADs and not having a "connection to them" (like a 3 year player was much different) was such a silly argument rooted in a sense of entitlement and a predetermined hate for Cal from the get go.

Fair enough. Those people did exist but IMO the real bitching started when the OADs weren’t the AD, Wall,KAT types but were ok to good players.

Sadly have to thank Nike, NCAA and Duke for that. You cant convince me that after 10 years of the most absurd success of Cal making HS recruits into gajillionaires.. that guys like Jayson Tatum and Zion thought "nah, ill take my shot with this stuffy med school full of gross looking coeds". Picking Duke over a guy like Cal who was practically batting 1.000 at getting guys to the NBA, and being completely in their corner (which if you recall, was not something guys like K, Self and others did at this time)... I'll never buy it.

It started going downhill when players like Dakari Johnson, Ashton Hagans, EJ Montgomery, Issac Humphries (I could go on and on) started leaving to go back to AUSTRALIA or to NOT EVEN BE PROJECTED TO BE DRAFTED when they could’ve come back and helped. It was so players hated playing for Kentucky so much that the thought of staying was worse than leaving to go work at McDonalds. It was insane. At that point the culture was ruined and then Cal seemed miserable to be here to boot. It became insanely toxic the last 5 years and it was time for a change for everybody.

Georgia really surprises me how good they are.

I think we’re solid to good. Wasn’t thrilled hiring a coach that was likely to be fired in short order at Florida but I think he’s a good coach and has elevated our floor where we should be pretty competitive most years. That’s about all I can ask for considering our history. Hopefully, that turns into an occasional NCAAT win or two. I do like our up tempo offense and depth. It’s going to cause some teams trouble this year. Would love to go 10-8 in conference this year.

Georgia has that crappy white dude who you wouldn’t actually recruit and isn’t going anywhere, but damn if he doesn’t cause problems and have wierded out breakout games where he sucks but pulls sht off all game long. Then you just never hear about him again.

Guys like Bliss at Georgia years ago, just wiry pasty players.

Blue has had a tough start to the year but was a consensus top 100 recruit out of IMG. Not exactly a no name. He’s played starter minutes for the better part of two years now. He’s not going to wow you but does a lot of things well, generally. Dave Bliss was anything but wiry. He was white though.

I think you have a really good chance for some NCAA wins this year. I have no idea what to make of Mike White. He seemed pretty solid and then fell off. The makeup of this team seems good though.

Who is that white guard you have who was making turnaround jumpers. That kid looked good and then he had a nice crossover layup late in the game when it was getting close.
