This game had me worried going in and ASU’s pitcher thru almost 5 innings gave up only 2 hits.
We broke it open on their first reliever.
Impressed with McPherson - 4 hits thru 7 innings of work.
Let’s not let up tomorrow vs VA Tech.
Have no idea what kind of team they have?

Well I was watching it and he did give up 3 pb's. He reaches instead of shifting. Raymond can hit too.

I do agree on the reach part. It's just nice to have some depth at catcher finally!

Yeah, but if you have 5 catchers you dont have one. I would love to see Chone or Raymond separate, Chone needs to "chore" up his defense though. He called a great game.

Bryce Chance has made two big-time defensive - one in right field & one in left field plus driving in the first run of the game

And don't overlook the fact that, after we took a solid lead, Oak pulls Vytas and puts Bryce in left and Nunnalee in right for defense.

It's nice to have a coach who you can just be certain knows wtf he's doing at all times.

Virginia Tech has a solid club that will be in the regional hosting discussion, although I think they will end up a #2 seed. They are 7-1 and No. 16 in the RPI. They play A&M tonight.

A quick look at VA Techs schedule says they’re 7-1 with 2 series wins vs William and Mary and Rutgers - one Rutgers game they lost 1-16. Beat ETSU and James Madison also.

I think Miller will be fine this year. With a 6 run lead in the 9th, I think he was probably told to pound the strike zone and not walk anybody. The result can be what you saw. Some fireworks but no real threat of getting beat.

Miller is a freshman getting some time in a non crucial situation.

We have several guys who can step into that role. He won’t be one of them. Why waste a closer with an 8-2 lead?

If that was a save situation we are going to Webb or Davis. I love Miller’s potential but he’s not our closer. That was just us letting a young talented arm get some work with a big lead.
