That sounds like a troll job. Interviewing the pirate in Key West? Was Jimmy Buffett there to provide musical accompaniment?

The Key West thing makes it sound real. 'The Pirate' has his own personalized bar stool at Captain Tony's.

17 Finebaum.

Last week he has "Why hasn't MSU fired Moorhead" and now this week it's "I can't believe they fired Moorhead". I get he is the mouthpiece for the SEC Network, but if I was Cohen I'd find a way to rub it in Paul's face after the way he treated him during the interview when SEC nation was here and the way he has talked poorly about him this week.

this to me makes the least sense out of any names mentioned. the fit would be really strange. talk about a complete rebuild of everything. and zero defense. it would basically take our defense from this year and would probably keep going down in trajectory. he would need to find some better receivers than we got and be ready to get sacked A LOT. long developing pass plays.

Bo Bounds wants him for the media prospect out of this. that is all that is. they know it would be media gold.

Bo Bounds says on the radio he doesn't know anything, but he says IB went and interviewed the Pirate in Key West.

Not buying it.

I can't believe the SECN gives him a 4 hour window each day to spew his crap. I mean sometimes he just says stuff to be saying stuff to fill the time. Half of what he says contradicts other stuff he's already said.

I'm not sure if there's a lot of interest in our job and Cohen is taking his time to get the best, or if there's little or no interest and Cohen is grasping at straws.

It's hard to believe that Napier or anybody else would turn down a 400% increase in salary and the chance to coach in the SEC.

I would hate the 17 out of that hire. Soft *** team and won’t play defense. Leach’s Wazzou team lost a game this year to UCLA they were leading 49-17 with 6 mins left in the 3rd quarter. I’d have a 17ing stroke. Keep his goofy *** the 17 away from here.

Enough on his defense. I lived and followed him in TX - he has coached at two places where it is difficult to get defensive players. He has coached at outpost locations. Put him in a recruiting area with a good DC, and that takes care of itself.
The guy is a genius and can do more with less.
Leach and our Brandon QB - dang.....and have Gardner come visit for a TV game visiting his sister. So much Mojo with this guys.
He made TX Tech relevant

At this point I don't really care. Cohen could hire Buddy Stephens I wouldn't be shocked.

I will say that when Alex Grinch was Leach’s DC at Wazzu, they had a pretty good defense. Nothing amazing, but good enough to pare with his offense. Grinch got the Oklahoma DC job and the Wazzu defense wasn’t nearly as good this year. If we hire Leach, hiring a very good DC is essential. Grantham perhaps?

the SEC NEEDS Leach back....screw it....with our list of "premier" candidates, Leach is as good as any. lets just fall on the sword already and make it happen.**

The worst part about this coaching search has been the fact that Bo Bounds, of all people, broke the Judge news. He has been pounding the Leach stuff for days....

Why is a guy that has been stuck up in the very NW corner of the country for nearly a decade now such a fascination for folks in the Southeast?

Bounds is in it for entertainment, listeners, and the almighty dollar of the advertisements. He thinks he will strike gold if he gets both Kiffin AND leach. to cover on a daily basis. Leach is nothing but publicity whether he is right for us or not. Bo couldn't care less about that. Bo is going to push hard for that because it's what he wants. Sark would give some push for him as he could see that USC ties with Kiffin and Eddie O. Napier doesn't really have that aspect to him. Napier will get after it and win. Sark will get after it and win. The pirate would create media buzz and kill press conferences. His offense would take a complete rebuilding of our squad that probably wouldn't be finished until Will Rogers would be a senior.

You could literally sit on the ball every possession and run the clock out in that scenario.

This is great news. Leach would be a fantastic choice. All you naysayers would fall in love and fall in line before the plane hit the tarmac. Get on the LEACH TRAIN BABY!!!

Guess he doesn’t have to use the secret MSU spy plane to find a QB. Lots of 5’9” mustached white dudes within driving distance.

in his 18 years of being a HC:

12 seasons of 8 or more wins
16 bowl games
2 eleven win seasons at two different schools and two very different geographic locals

as far as resumes, he kills Sark....and im not in the Leach camp....but im drifting that way

I guess we could enjoy watching our receivers drop the ball 40 times a game instead of 15. I think the dude is a riot tho.

I'm down. Bring in Leach. We just need a DC that can keep the score under 50.

What a 17ing disaster that would be. Please don’t let this be the one coach Cohen doesn’t try to go cheap on.
