We more than "in play" for a 2 seed. We are currently a 2 seed and control our own destiny. We are still in play for a 1 seed. If Gonzaga and UNC each lose another game and UK wins out it we are possibly a 1.

for a 2 seed?

Win @ Texas A&M and it's a lock short of a 1st round SEC Tourney exit and I doubt even that would change the #2 seed,The computer rankings all have Kentucky firmly planted at the #2 seed line and with a miracle bunch of losses by those above and a Kentucky winning out through the SEC Tourney they'd be mentioned as a next in line for a #1 seed.

Need to win @ A&M Saturday, will be iffy, Aggies playing very well. Then win 1 SEC tourney game, and a 2 seed is wrapped up.
Must play like they did in 2nd half to win in College Station. Getting off to a slow start will be much more problematic on the road.

If we win out and make it to the SEC-T championship, we'll be a 2 seed because they've already said that the results of the SEC-T championship game do not matter.

The fact that we are even talking about the possibility of a one seed reflects how balanced the tourney field is going to be this year. As badly as the team played through the first twelve minutes of the game last night (0.286 efficiency vs. 1.190 efficiency for Vandy), it played at a high level for the remainder of the game (1.485 efficiency vs. 0.847 efficiency for Vandy). The 3 through 8 teams Kenpom this morning are separated by less than 2/3rds of a point. Given a decent bracket draw and more consistency, this team can make a deep run, possibility to the Final Four.
