As good as that East Surry passing game was, Tarboro lost four fumbles in that game, two on kickoff returns. I'll say it again...Ball security and special teams were critical factors in that game and can't be overlooked.
Not one of those fumbles was guaranteed a score for Tarboro. They lost to ES, no if or mistakes about it. No team can keep winning forever. It was not Tarboro's year.

Agreed, they were the better team. I think what he and most others feel, they didn’t really stop our offense all night. They only stopped us when we turned the ball over. With that said, again, you’re right, they won we lost. We got our revenge spring of 21. It all worked out ;)

As always TD, you miss my point entirely. You can try to frame it that I somehow can’t accept it that the better team won, but actually I was talking to the subject of this thread which is what does the current crop of teams left in the playoffs need to focus on in order to defeat Tarboro. Since none of them have the passing attack of a 2019 East Surry, it’s important to focus on the other aspects of the game that can turn in your favor. Certainly, 2 drives stopped and 2 more that never happened because of fumbles made a huge difference. East Surry didn’t necessarily need those turnovers to win the game, but if a lesser team than East Surry has a shot and the benefit of those turnovers, it could spell a major upset.

Funny story. My nephew played defensive end few years back. They let him carry the ball once on senior night against Wheatmore.
80 yard TD run 😂
I played running back and linebacker for a jv team that was 1-9. Led the team in rushing and tackles at 145 pounds. Took Coach Cushwa about three minutes the next year to explain to me why he was moving me to guard. I began to understand why nobody else exceeded my numbers and why we were 1-9😂. But I never stopped being a running back in my mind.

If you’re like most teams, you probably have about eight linemen who secretly see themselves as running backs. 🤣
That's why I always liked playing cow pasture football well actually we'd go to the middle school football field and play I got to play any position.
Once on JV the coach was complaining about the line blocking at practice and said something like you lineman should know how it feels to get hit without good blocking and I said I'll try after I got more yardage than the RB he just put me back in the line and he didn't mention it the rest of practice. I was more the size of a fullback than lineman anyway.
