so excited to have this young man representing the big red. Sounds like he comes from a great family and it’s hard to see him breakdown at the end. But it shows the human side of our players and the things they deal with and I have no doubt husker nation will build him up.

Being away from home for the first time is never easy and it’s a compliment to your mom and dad that they have built a family where it’s hard to be away. Can’t wait for them to come back to the games and see him in action!!! I’m confident he will be a fan favorite very early!

I came to Lincoln from Fort Worth. Getting away from my parents? Priceless! It was a lot of drama and plenty of growing up. Made some lifelong friends and tons of memories. The only thing better was those summers back home in Texas when I was 18/19.

Thanks for sharing this. He seems like a great guy. Hope he finds success at Nebraska!

Such a real moment. Being homesick pretty much happens to every kid when they go away to school, it just hits some a lot harder.

Just think what it is like for the kids that go off to school and don't have their entire day filled with practice and lifting.

I just hope that we haven't over hyped him. I can't remember when an 18 year old punter came in with so much fan fair.
He hasn't played a down of American football yet.. not even in high school!

Suh seems like he might be even more into NU now, not that he wasn't before, but like now that he is retired officially, it seems like he might be more active with the Huskers, with social media and probably attending games.
