[Buckwheat Otay Is Dead]

After coaching BYU for 5 years Mark Pope was asked to become UKs coach after UKs board told Barnhart who they wouldn’t approve as head coach. The University and AD fiddled while Rome burned. So what was done, call Hurley but he just used UK to make more money so then the next man up was Oars. Now Barnhart is screwed. The transfer portal is ongoing and Coach Cal has taken all the players to Arkansas. UKs only player is freshman Perry. Basically the coaches that everyone wanted wasPearl, Pitino and two others but they were not going to coach at UK,

so Barnhart calls Pope. Pope accepts because he is BBN fan number. He puts a team together in a week that were a bunch of no names.but third game of the season he beat Duke, same year he beats Gongaza but then the injuries killed.
So if you want to blame , Barnhart or Cal but I won’t blame Pope nt when all this happened two years ago. No wonder Barnhart called Microwave fans. This is all fact and KSR knows it’s true.

And things have progressively gotten worse the longer Pope has been here, meaning the success he had in his first year was largely fool's gold. And keep in mind we still suffered double digit losses and was a middle of the pack SEC team that year! Year two was much worse. And year 3 looks like it will be a total chit show. That is called a trend. And it isn't a good one.

What effect did Cal have on this hire? And I don’t remember who it was from but I do know it was a reliable source that reported Pope called Barnhart and insisted he be the next coach because no other coach out there knew what it meant to be at UK like he does. If true and I do believe it, this hire fell into Barnhart’s lap.

Pope shares a ton of blame. He is getting good advice but ignoring it. Derek Anderson says in the group chat they are telling him to try certain things.

And he's not listening. Everyone knows he needs a GM, but he thinks he doesn't. He has Pitino on speed dial, but his team defense is so uninspired. He has the tools at his disposal, but he cares more about his ego than doing things that will help the program.
