However incorrect 91's statement is, it was pretty good. He is obviously referring to the first game of the season and not the Western Final. I only have to wait until Aug 21 to be humble.
The Crest fans always bringing up the first game none of them want to talk about the western finals bc they were real lucky to get out of the stable with a win. Just like the first game this year. They will bring it to the crampers i hope crampers are not over looking us like the crest fans are..
You lost. Twice. Crest is the STATE CHAMPIONS. We don't bomb out in the second round. Our players would never overlook anyone, but the Crest fans have dismissed SP already. They're NOT Good enough.

I'll never forget the 2011 Crest-Northern Guilford championship game over in Kenan Stadium. I thought Crest would win, and looking at the talent I thought it would be a pretty good match-up. Nope, Crest didn't show up that night. I thought they played soft that night and that really surprised me.
This past year, I'd have taken Crest's D against anyone in the state. Lots of adjectives to describe the 2014 Crest team, and soft isn't one of them. That was one nasty D.

It was nasty but in the western finals our defense played just has hard. They made one more play then we did.
13 to 7 is a nail bitter but crest fans wants to bring the first game up where they killed us first game of the year. But I promise you this year it will be a closer game or maybe a victory by the Raiders
Well coon. We had one called back and your offense got lucky one time otherwise it looked putrid against the Crest D. Our defense will be better this year. You just have your fun now. I'll meet you at the scoreboard at halftime and wipe the drool off your mouth.

on the Td y'all scored we missed tackles at the line. we missed a Td when D1 droped the ball. we had y'all stopped on the second FG but a stupid personal foul gave y'all another chance.
That's football for you. Things like that happen. Balls are dropped, miss tackles happen. Physical mistakes happen on both sides of the ball.
For South Point to beat Crest, South Point has to play their best game and Crest has to play sloppy. Crest didn't play a good game and South Point played one of their best games and they still came up short.
If your opinion is based on your set of facts for why South Point lost, then you have unwittingly proved that Crest is superior over South Point. South Point is a very good team, but Crest is much, much better. If Crest played 4A this year, they would be 2nd only to Mallard Creek. South Point, on the other hand, would be lucky to be playing in the 4A playoffs.
You read these threads and get the feeling that last year's Red Raiders lost 2 times. First game to Crest and the Western finals to Crest. But the reality is that they didn't go 16-2. SP was 11-5. They lost twice to Crest, but also to 2A Lincolnton, AC Reynolds, and Forestview. And by some accounts, should have lost to Shelby.
Crest laid an egg in the Western finals and won a close contest. I was on the SP side of the stands and could feel the momentum, but still never felt like SP was really going to win.
Somehow now it seems as if these two schools were somewhat even when that wasn't the case at all. SP had a good late run and played their butts off against Goliath but came up short.
If SP and Crest had played 10 times last year, 9 of them would have looked like the season opener.

we gave the game away to Fv and Ac and then Lincolnton we went for 2 at the end. we beat shelby from the start to the end of the game. we had 4 turnovers against fv. Yes crest was good last year but y'all don't give no credit to sp how they played in the western finals. they made crest play like that. The first game of the year this year will be different with a Red Raider victory!!!
