I mostly stopped watching after Michigan State. I tried to get back into it a few games later. Wheeler drove it directly under the basket with nowhere to go a few times and I lost all hope.

Just painful to watch.

Apathy set in for me in the 9-16 year. I watched zero full games after mid-January. I DVR’d all of them, deleted the losses, watched the wins.

Last year, I got excited again after pounding UT, UNC and KU. Then, they imploded in late February and coasted on fumes until their embarrassing NCAAT exit.

Bahamas made me excited. Preseason hype was back. This is a final four team. Then, Michigan State happened. Then Gonzaga. That’s when I checked out. I forgot to DVR the game last night. I also forgot there was a game until almost halftime. Turned on the TV, watched a couple possessions, said f it and turned it off.

I remember a time in my life where I missed weddings and funerals because the Cats were playing. Now, I don’t plan my life around UK basketball. Part of that is wisdom that comes with age because letting a sporting event you’re not participating in dominate your life is silly, but most of it is because our program is stuck in the mud, just like our alleged offense.
