More important where you finish - hopefully the team sees our conference opponents and Tulane, Oregon State and keeps grinding!!!

I do not understand the Wisconsin hype, at all.
I remember watching some highlights of their spring game and it looked way more impressive than ours. Defenders were flying to the ball, and at least it seems like they'll make an attempt to open up their offense this year.

top 4 will have to lose at least 2, maybe 3 to miss the playoff

top 25 shouldn't come out until October 1st, IMO

pre-season top 25 is one of the reasons college football is the most predictable, least variable sport going by 100 miles

becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy more times than not for these dorks who absolutely don't watch as many teams/games as the average Husker Board poster

You do know they have been rating teams forever at the beginning of the season right..

It all works itself out anyway…

A&M wasn’t very good last year usually unusual a team with a losing record gets ranked..

Not that surprising to me. They finished at #17 last year and they picked up QB DJ Uiagalelei from Clemson in the transfer portal. They should be pretty good.
Forgot about DJ. Should be interesting to see if he can get it together.

Other than AP #1-7, this list is an absolute crapshoot.

My 2023 hot takes:

Brian Ferentz is not going to score enough points to keep his job and McNamara will struggle this year.

Sark confuses me at Texas. They have a favorable schedule but I see his seat warming up and losing 3+ games.

Fickell and Ferentz won’t win the West. Bielema will.

Ohio State will win the Big 10, not Michigan.

There are a handful of years where it didn't work out for certain teams.

2004 Auburn for example ended up #2, but didn't get to play in the CCG partly to starting the pre-season being ranked #17. Southern Cal & Oklahoma being pre-season #1 & #2.

After Week 5 (Oct 2nd games) you had;

OU: 4-0 beating no one in the Top 25
USC: 4-0 beating no one in the Top 25
Auburn: 5-0 beating 2 teams in the Top 25

Side note:
Georgia: 4-0 beating 1 team in the Top 25
Miami: 4-0 beating 1 team in the Top 25

I have a hard time believing that Auburn would've been left out of the Top 2 had the ratings waited until Oct.

For sure agree with your last two items.

Okay that’s real good example but USC and Oklahoma still never lost a game so that was a little unusual wouldn’t you say?

Maybe Texass will get the Nebraska treatment in their way out?? Would be tough to stay at that spot if so.
UT haven't played in a big 12 championship game since 2018

people acting like they're the class of the league are woefully mistaken

Based on what? Doesn't Michigan have majority of their starters back and Ohio State is playing with a new QB

Were you on I80 near Lincoln around 945?

I saw a charcoal Tacoma with a fat tire in the bed. We were dropping off our daughter at NU this AM

They do have a lot returning (13), but Ohio State has nearly the same amount (12). I think Harbaugh will be a little too distracted at some point this year with the NCAA stuff.

I also don’t see how “generationally talented” JJ McCarthy is, and I have a hard time seeing Ryan Day losing 3 straight to Michigan.

Ferentz is not getting fired unless his Daddy allows it.

How did we watch that different of a spring game? Wisconsin looked terrible! Multiple QBs, including Mordified, with time, dawning green jerseys, throwing it straight at defenders miles away from their wide receivers. Those were NOT forced turnovers dude. Wtf were you watching??

You may be right, but I personally don’t see them scoring that many points (again) this year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Daddy Ferentz retire soon.
I am guessing a few things here...

New AD, that could change things a bit.

Dad totally won't let his kid get canned BUT maybe he creates some fake position for him in the department for 200k a year.
