The AP poll for this week is out. No changes at the top, but Louisville and Carolina got whacked for their losses over the weekend. RU stayed in 29th, but lost a few points.

Top 5: 1. Connecticut (same as last week, 31 1st place votes, down 1), 2. South Carolina (same, 1 1st place vote, up 1), 3. Notre Dame, 4. Tennessee, 5. Baylor (same)

Big Ten: 7. Ohio State (down 1), 8. Maryland (up 1), 20. Northwestern (down 1), 23. Michigan State (up 1), also receiving votes: Rutgers (31 points, down 3, 29th, same), Iowa (10 points, down 7, 30th, same)

The big gainer in the poll was Kentucky, up 5 spots from 18th to 13th; the big drops in the poll were Louisville, from 8th to 16th, Arizona State from 15th to 18th and North Carolina, from 22nd to t32nd.

Here's the Yahoo! link, which mysteriously says that nobody changed ranks this week: 1 to 25

After tonight's debacle and embarrassment, we'll be lucky to be in the top 50. What a disgrace.

Rutgers will not make the top 25 this season
And here they come again.... I guess we should just throw in the towel. Why bother playing the games? From football boards to here. I don't know how some people how so much time on their hands. It was an old fashioned ***-whooping by a senior laden team (including several 5th year players). If I recall, we got beaten by 40 at home against a Duke team in 2007 and came back to beat them in Greensboro later that year on the way to the Final Four. It was the 2nd game of the year! Give it a rest!

Let's play a few more games before you start asking for another coach's job.

That's not the way some posters are .
They have been waiting to bash CVS the first chance they get and with this poor start, they are taking advantage of it.
Some are just disappointed and expressing their frustration, but the old Viv must go crowd is back doing the thing they like to do best. Bash the coach

The issue is that a experienced Rutgers women's basketball team is playing like a group of players that never were on the court together prior to this season.Blame the coaches and the players for non performance but not fans who simply are reflecting what is obvious .

Blame the coaches-always the easy answer. Must be great to be so omniscient that you can solve all the worlds problems with one phrase "blame the coaches".
I guess that means that it's always the coaches who get credit when a team wins. The players don't matter.

RUClassof67, it is always the same crowd. They hate this coach with a passion. At any time that the team isn't doing well they will pounce. I try very hard to ignore them. I am saving this thread, to see if at the end of the season they are correct. I will call them all out if they are wrong. My gosh 3 games in get a freaking life.

Maybe we should blame the janitors.

I would have loved to see this board back in the 2006-07 season through the first 6 games or so. I know totally different season & we were playing more ranked teams, but I would have thought that season would have taught us not to make judgments on a team for the first few games of the season. Teams grow & get better. I'm not ready to count out this team, not by a long shot.

I don't think the general feeling is that we should count this team out yet, but rather frustration and concern about the performance by an experienced team after three games. If we record many more losses prior to the challenging conference schedule our NCAA hopes and seeding will be adversely affected.

Some of you can spin this any way you want, but if we dump another tomorrow, I don't know how a rational person can still think the team does not have major issues. So let's see what happens.

The same attacks continue...any criticism is calles out. Its actually interesting that when the losses happen posters and fans have disappeared. I have never seen this board so inactive.

I guess its okay to just act like everything is on target . Lets have cake and coffee and ice cream

I just feel sad when I see them play like they did the last 2 games. I think they can play a lot better and eventually will. Today against Temple, who knows. Temple is pretty good. I'm having coffee and gluten free chewy bars.

Hard to argue with this logic even before the next game is played. The RACs are on the prowl! No one is acting like everything is on target. That is your conclusion. But I'm hoping that this team (and the football team) begin to play better and I'll support them whether they do or not. It must be terrible to live in such depression ALL the time and to have to look for places to wallow in. Hope it gets better. Therapy helps. My business partner and good friend passed away yesterday and I'm looking for today's game to help me forget about real life for a couple of hours before getting on a plane tomorrow morning for a funeral. The negatoids just look for reasons to complain and blame those who have jobs they couldn't hope to perform regardless.

Seems like some don't feel the sky is falling at this point of the season and are saying that when replying to doom and gloom messages.
So maybe the attacks are against those who are disappointed in the way the Women are playing, disappointed in Vivian and staff not having the team at full speed but refusing to give up this early when replying to those who are making like the way the ladies are playing NOW,will be the way they play all season.
Guess defending CVS and the team is off limits to some of those who want to criticize them.

Trust me, as the board moderator (yes, it's been that long), it was not a pretty sight.

Just wondering if you guys saw this game? Very quiet after a win but really noisy after a loss.

No I had other things to do with my time. Its good they won especially against a program that has given them tough games. They needed to. It was about as much of a must win as you can have this early.

True that, but most likely there are fewer people on this site today than there were yesterday, when RU football was in action.

A loss brings some out, more than a win does, but football does bring about more posts in every SN board
I'm glad to see some that complain about losses posting about the the win over Temple.

I'll be honest - after losses I find it hard to spend much time here, particularly as RU fans tend to believe that any loss means the team never will win again.
