The MOST RECENT Rutgers team we have seen (second half of last night) could beat anyone in the B1G. Yes our first halves have been very bad, but the team HAS THE POTENTIAL to win any game. If they can be locked in for 40 minutes instead of 20.

last I checked were 6-5 in the Big Ten. Yes I know who we’ve played, who we’ve lost to, and who we have to play. But until we have 10 conference losses, the season is not over and this very Rutgers team has the chance to still do it IF they can get the mental part down to be tuned in for a whole game

Haven't really changed my opinion on this team. They have it in them to win any game left on their schedule, and also to lose any game left on their schedule. They're just maddeningly inconsistent, from game to game, and even from half to half.

The one thing that could change my thinking is if new roles are set by the coaching staff and some of the player(s) arent accepting. Things were neat and easy when it was 5 guys playing 34 minutes. I think we have been paying for the high minutes lately.

8 am today to 8 am Saturday is 72 hours . Game is at 4pm over at 6pm. WTF?
I may have misinterpreted your prior post which I took as sarcasm about losing confidence (I don't believe they have or will between now and next game) and was offering a light hearted joke (hence the "lol") about them losing confidence during their sleeping hours.

Got it now. I was serious but like the way you injected sarcasm and humor in the post. All good.

I don't see roles changing enough to really build consistency.

Our offense is all over the place.

On 1/15 Harper had 31 points, then two weeks later he had 7
On 1/22 Baker had 25 points, then 10 days later he had 0
On 1/22 Omoruyi had 4 points, then 10 days later he had 22
On 1/25 Mulcahy had 0 points, then 7 days later he had 31

If in any game, 2-3 of our guys have an "on" game while others play their averages, we could beat anyone. If 2-3 of our guys have an "off" game while others play their averages, we could get our doors blown off.

I'm really curious what the standard deviation is on each of our players vs. the average standard deviation of other players with comparable points/minutes per game.

OSU bigs are gonna bully us I fear. Lidell and Young are full grown men

If we can defend the 3 like Iowa, Wisconsin is beatable. Caleb and Mag slow down Davis
They also have Key who spells Lidell and sometimes they are on the court together. But with them on the road and our home crowd and if we play balls to the wall for 40 minutes, we have a chance, lol.

Wish we had Key. Can Dean stop him or Young?

Key started the last two games as a 4, so if that's still the case Ron will have to match up with him. Key is 6'8 245, so it'll be interesting. Key averages 9 pts a game. I like Dean, but Key is too much for him right now, imo.

Caleb last 2 games got pulled early in the 2nd half. That is a change.
For whatever reason, he wasn’t helping the team on defense. It wasn’t a change, it was consistent with what pike’s done before. Lots of complaints on here when Caleb had the early season yips, but anything negative spoken about his defense then was unfounded. He was indisputable the best defender on the floor in those games despite his poor offense. He was ineffective on both ends the last 2 games. No clue what’s going on with him.

I saw in the press a possible avenue for our bench to be able to contribute quality minutes without us falling apart. It won’t work against everyone (wouldn’t want to run it on a team like Iowa for example that likes to play fast). But I saw in the second half, opportunity to build on the come back and improve as a team - despite the disappointing loss. Let’s see what happens.

I don't. Absolutely brutal schedule the rest of the way. Both Harper and Geo appear to have lost all of their confidence.
I don’t unless the other team has players out due to injury or severe illness.

You can’t lose to NW or MD at home and expect to just turn it on.

I’ll repeat what’s been said by others above….

we have seen this team play in a way where they can beat ANY team in this league

But will they for all, most, some or none of these games?

that’s what will determine the results
