Anyone Notice This...

First....during halftime of our game against Buffalo, instead of talking about what we did right or the first half that Shai was having, they immediately started in on how good they thought Buffalo had done and that they thought Buffalo had a real good shot at the upset and that Coach Oats was orchestrating his game plan , and blah, and blah, and blah.

It was like they thought it was Buffalos gameplan all along to be down 9 at half or something. ANyone else notice that?

Also, the slobberfest over UNC yesterday by Rafferty and co. They were down 19 with 7 minutes to go and had just hit a 3 to cut it to 19 and caused a turnover and Rafferty immediately says "theyre showing signs of life" as if they were going to come back from that kind of deficit with that little amount of time to go. Then they start talking about worrying about "Roy over there on the bench" and going on and on about Joel Berry, even though his team was being manhandled. It seemed very disrespectful of Coach Kennedy and his team that even though he was smashing the tar holes, all the compliments from the commentating crew was about UNC. They sounded downright despondent.

I did cut the unc game on at the very end to see them crying and heard Jim Nantz talking about Theo Pinson like he was his grandson or something. “Such a great kid who can do anything he wants in life, so charismatic. Been fantastic getting to know him these last four years m”. WTF? How and why do u know him that well?

They're selling a television product. A huge portion of the viewers don't watch basketball throughout the year. They know underdogs and comebacks. That's what they focus on.

I'll never understand why our fans complain. Do you need Bill Raftery or Dick Vitale to explain the game to you? What are you looking for from them?

We overplay the hatred,
Recently my brothers and I complained about Dick Vitale on the TN - KY sec tournament game. Thought he was mainly for TN. Living in TN everyone I talked to said he was rooting for KY and they had to turn the sound off. Same way with calls etc. We see and hear the most what is against us but rarely hear the positive toward us.

It really is not a conspiracy against us like we make it out to be. Ya sure because we are good more often than not we get some extra hate but there is no secret society out to get us.

And to the North Carolina game I mean they were getting the crap beat out of them and the guy is having to call a terrible game, when something interesting happens he has to put some flavor on it, that is his Job.

People like the tournament for upsets, fans of elite schools want to dominate. You can’t expect others to have the same desires you do.

The lovefest that the announcers spouted about UNC and their players went on for several minutes and anybody would have thought it was over the top.

They went to back to back title games and won last year's championship. Their career was ending on national television. Praise was deserved. What else should they talk about in that moment?

It was waaaay over the top. They definitely sounded disappointed, and I don't care what anyone says about television and selling a product or whatever. To me, its easier to sell an upset than to sell a blue blood beating someone they were supposed to beat. They should have been selling TAMU, instead we got the woe is me BS about Ol Roy and the tar holes and slobbing the knobs of Berry, Pinson, and Maye for the last 8 minutes of the game. It was pathetic and terrible sports commentating in my opinion.

Pay attention to the little grunts that come from Raftery. Every time something went bad for UNC you could hear. it. I don't hate the guy but he was calling that game as if he wanted his old friend Roy to roll on. That's ok but it shouldn't be obvious.

Honestly, Buffalo deserved praise for keeping it close vs. UK for most of the game. I didn't have a problem with it. They could have easily had a letdown, and the final score didn't do their effort justice.

That being said, who cares what the announcers say. Just so long as we don't get the Rooferee and fall subject to his 'comments'.

There's definitely some sort of conspiracy. Everyone is out to get us.
Be extra careful around any grassy knolls you might run up on.

I think Jim gave Theo a tie under the covers and no one caught that.

Seriously? That's what they talked about for 95% of the game. But, people here conveniently forget that and focus on the other part.

People get stupid with this stuff
I guess the rest of us and you watched two different broadcasts.I guess we agree to disagree. It was 95% for UNC

In Raftery's defense, the "I hope Roy is okay" comment was because Roy was bent over with his hands on his knees. He has a history of losing consciousness on the sideline, and that's usually how it starts for him.
I was wondering about that comment. They didn't show Roy, so I had no idea why Raftery made that comment.

But it is funny how K's back is never out or Roy's dizzy spells never flair up when they're winning, those things always seems to happen when they're losing.

As far as the other stuff, eh, everyone expects UK to win, but they want an entertaining game so viewers will hang on. If they say what they actually knew, which was Buffalo was about to get smoked, those viewers that were on the fence would have changed over to NCIS or some other stupid choreographed show.

How good of a game A&M was playing.

the previous fifteen minutes had been about that. As Berry and Pinson are subbed out, it would sound insane to be hyping up the team that had clearly won the game. They can't call the games like we act on our couches.

The UNC comment could have happened. Just ask UC how a 22 point lead with 10 minutes to go worked out for them..

if praise was deserved for last years title then they should have been kissing Higgin's *** as well.

I heard plenty of praise for A&M....Raftery pointed out how they owned UNC in the paint and admonished the guards to wait for the bigs whenever they jacked up a quick shot. Anytime there's a big lead they try and play up the other team's chance to get back in the game....it's a ratings thing.....want you to keep watching.

Well at least the NC team will get to sleep in as they don't have to attend classes to stay eligible. There will be
no classes and no practices the rest of the semester.
the only thing that changes there is there will be no more practices lol !

Like others, the comment “I hope Roy is ok” really struck a nerve. Really Bill? There’s only one coach left standing in the end, plus, the majority get paid millions. They’re fine
