I got the feeling he was one of the fans that maybe was a little turned off by NIl and this becoming semi pro sports . Seemed like he always liked the student athlete stuff.
he provided value here and was a good poster . I bought stuff he reccomended

Did he post on the football board a week ago about this or did you? Did he say he didn’t feel appreciated?

One of the mods I think responded to that effect. He was the guy that would find all sorts of deals on Rutgers merchandise and post them. I used to kid around with him because every time I didn't think he could find a more obscure niche Rutgers item, he topped himself.

No and yes. As noted the MODs confirmed he was tired of the abuse, being complained about (via direct email to them or the report feature I assume), and didn't feel appreciated.

He is a great fan who likely started to take it a bit too far (as we're all likely guilty of at some point..I am) but a valued member that should be pushed to come back.

Yeah, that’s what I remember the mods posting. As for the kidding between him and me, it was always good natured and he would always come back with a new item to post. It was sort of a challenge that he always won whether it was a Rutgers spatula or ceiling fan.

People complained about THAT guy? Jeez. Very benign and well-intentioned poster.

Always write sentences without subjects?

Actually, there is an implied subject: He. Just as when you say, "Burn in hell," the implied subject is you. I prefer the snappier pace and informality of the implied subject and use it a lot. I have a small problem with the run-on sentence. I'd prefer:
Posted on football board a week or two ago about it. Apparently, he just isn’t interested in posting. Didn’t feel appreciated.
but would be fine with:

Stylistically, GORU2014 's version is much better read than:
He posted on football board a week or two ago about it. Apparently he just isn’t interested in posting. He didn’t feel appreciated.

And, yes, I had Prof Dana Brand for expository writing in the early 80's. Was okay. Nothing Special. Did his job. (To be verbs can also be assumptive predicates, combined with an assumptive subject.) Without these we'd all sound too much like Hemingway with subject predicate object sentence structure.
A good rule of thumb is: NEVER CORRECT ANYONE'S GRAMMAR unless they are your child, your student, or your employee.

The rules go out the window here, but there's a point when posts become incoherent. This is not one of those times. Can I interest anyone in a Block R dog bed?

Honestly, (I) hope he's driving around in the brand-new Ford Maverick he was waiting for, taking kayak trips all over. Or maybe he found a lady.

Best thing you can do for him beyond this appreciation thread is leave him be. This place is a time suck. Maybe he realized he's better off without it.

I loved the off-the-wall RU gear finds and he definitely made me aware of sales I'd have missed. I don't understand complaining to mods, but I do see why people didn't like when he'd spam the board with like 10 threads in 10 mins in the morning. Some OT, some just random tweets that didn't need an entire thread.

Love Heaven! Great guy in actual reality too...which is always important.

I gotta be honest.. I don't care to visit here much anymore either. While I will still moderate on the rare occasion (RS has been awesome to me), this sometimes toxic stew doesn't sit well all of a sudden.

I'm still a HUGE Sweet Pea fan though!

Heaven is from the town next door to mine. Used to love talking to him about happenings in the area. Shame a bunch of whinny bitches complained about him and the mods actually took those complaints seriously. @HeavenUniv. will be missed

I was annoyed with the incessant merch posts but didn't feel compelled to go to the mods about it. The posts weren't always about sales and seemed much more about increasing a post total.

Yes it is hard for those who can’t stand the man’s right to an opinion. Sad to see the idiots at the U of Florida threaten someone because of party affiliations. Or the OC Professor fired because lazy *** kids couldn’t come to class, knew how to study or just figured they could intimidate a weak administration of losers. Heaven was on here for years He brought information and common sense to a board of disagreeing factions on many subjects and topics. Hope he someday returns.

Speaking of missing posters, where is @RocktheRac and Sweet Pea. Maybe even Sweet Pea is so disgusted that the dog no longer wanted to watch football games.

Didn’t he say he had a nephew on the Rutgers cross country team?
His postings had a huckster feel to them, and he got skewered routinely, but overall was an asset around here. Hope he reconsiders and rejoins the boards here.

I actully liked his RU merchandiser messages of what is available and where to get..
To me they were like OT help messages where great advice could be found .
Yes there are always those who ***** about OT threads asking for advice.
Just like people complain about Heavan trying to inform us about RU merchandise on the market.
I'll complain about the help and merchindice complaniers, they only want the issues they want talked about and don't care about anything else. So they ***** when they see something they don't like , trying to control what's posted on TKR boards
