When people take a public position that causes massive, massive, massive economic and societal disruption, it's going to be hard to get them to acknowledge that position was wrong. Or even that it can be changed right now in the light of new data."

Denying kids an education, keeping them from playing together, and forcing them to stay home in some cases with abusive parents because they’re at risk: a difficult choice. Denying them an education because we won’t admit that they essentially aren’t at risk: an unthinkable lie.


If this continues, 1/3 of the country is going to be completely open in about two weeks, and the other 2/3 will be hunkered down for the apocalypse - not even able to drive through tulip farms, and increasingly ready to storm governor's offices.

Just check out the last several weeks of his Twitter feed. Pushing every "it's not that bad" line (including the tired "the flu is worse"), expressing his support for every area trying to open up as early as possible, supporting the protests, coming up with nicknames like "Team Apocalypse" for anyone expressing concern.

edit: Not everything he is saying is even wrong. Much of it is right. It's just important to know he absolutely has an agenda, and I believe he's also taking a few incredibly stupid stances.

We are shut down, we are flattening the curve, but I don’t see how they can keep us shut down for 70 more days. I can see people advocating for that but things could get weird if they actually try it.

I don't think he's someone you can put in a box as clearly left or right wing in all of his views (which is a good thing - it means you use your brain instead of mindlessly regurgitating a party platform). Where are you seeing this date? They keep saying it locally - but I've never seen it referenced to a person or organization.
