Toppin is a mess I agree. Brooks had a little more to offer I guess but I just felt like he was reckless and lost.

I don’t disagree with that assessment. I checked the box score, though, and Jacob Toppin logged 31 minutes. Anyone have thoughts on whose responsibility it may be to manage PT? Also, roster management and player development? Anyone?

I wanted Toppin to play over Brooks last year. Even though I could see Toppin wasn't any better as a defender than Brooks.

Do I miss Brooks? No, but I wish him the best of luck and look forward to watching our team make a deep run in March and also, if Pitino happens to get that finger he flipped us caught in a cigar slicer, that would be fine too.
And for Brooks "softness?" You can claim he is playing the 4, but he is being allowed to pretend he is a 3 just like Brooks to heighten his NBA allure, not win college games. There is a common denominator here year after year and it isn't the players, because they come and go.

Meh, Brooks was average at this level. 23% from three last year. More turnovers than assists. Toppin shot 55% last year, but has obviously underperformed this year. He only played 17 min/game last year...and is probably pressing too much with the added expectations. I'm expecting the current 42% FG will be improved when Jacob's final stats are tallied.
