Got an automated call from Dak today. He said to be sure to come to Charlotte and paint the town maroon and white for his last game. Ticket sales must be slow.

My girlfriend is a student worker at the ticket office and she said Dak called about 50,000 people. Season ticket holders, I guess. They've only sold 2,500 tickets so far.

Despite all the contrived disgust over fans who classify this season as a failure, the truth is the truth. A large portion of our fanbase is rightfully disappointed, once aGAIN, with another November collapse. The reality of watching the results of ****** recruiting have caught up with them. They're tired of watching an OL get its **** pushed in by opposing DLs. They're telling our marketing guru AD to take your tier 4 bowl game tickets and shove em up your narrow ***.

Or we're all jaded from past experiences of buying bowl tickets through the school, and have purchased tickets through other outlets.
Short of a playoff game or a NY6 bowl in high demand, we will probably never again sell 10k+ tickets through the school.

Right. Very hard to justify paying that much for crappy tickets after the Orange Bowl experience last year.
I think most people who went (like myself) spent major $$$, only to see that we could have bought a 50 yard line ticket for $20, so that we could see us get our asses kicked from the 50 yard line instead of from behind the goal post.

Or, we've just been to a bunch of bowls in a row and this one is far away and on a Wednesday.

Hate it puts the school in a bind but what incentive is there for folks that are going to pay full price for crappy tickets through the school (unless maybe you are at the very top of the BC ranking) when you can get MUCH better seats for well less than face value on the open market? At least that's the way it has been for all of our bowls recently.

It doesn't put the school in a bind anymore: the conference eats unused tickets. I'll grant that it doesn't help our marketing folks try to break the false impression that we don't travel well, but since this is happening at almost every school across the country, they need to adapt anyway.
