They state as if it's a negative that GS is a micromanger. Yet it has been clear that he has given KC near fre rein and Smith free rein for a bulk of the season.
Only when GS got involved agin in the D did we win agist Marylan, play near 3competitive qrts re OSU and take pSU to the wire an should have won without two freak plays. Yes the D struggled but it has been SO much better than the beginning of the season. Smith a mistake hire and blame is there for that. But to say the D didnt get better when GS got involved is just plain bias.

Reminds me of the bball team last year. Finally have an offense that can score in the 70s, but defense gives up more.
I am a Greg supporter so this is not a bash but just being realistic. 17 years as head coach. 99-108 with approximately 13 of those wins against FCS school. 1 season of double digit wins. Zero conference titles. some really bad losses. It’s tough to defend. Its a shame because he is a really good guy

Not attacking here, just a review of this season. 5-7 with wins over Ohio University, Miami of Ohio, Norfolk State, 2-10 Purdue, and 4-7 (soon likely to be 4-8) Maryland.

The loss tonight sucks and we should have won in so many different squanderd opportunities.
As much as I hate saying there are “moral victories” in games sometimes, tonight we did have some.
Offense put up more points on PSU than we have in decades.
Defense always kept the game within 1-2 scores a constant battle till the bitter end.
Our fans kept the nearly 50/50 split of PSU fans Quiet until the end.
It suck’s we didn’t win but honestly this could have been way more embarrassing.
I blame the officials on the loss as much as the coaches and a few plays. There are many questionable calls including in the 4th quarter ball spotting and a lack of measuring and reviewing as such (I think the league office made sure they threw the game in 2nd half)

Find another school to root for. Rutgers does not know how to win in any sport. They never have been able to get over the hump in any big game in any sport. We constantly finish at the bottom of the Directors Cup. The school deserves the crap thrown on it. But after 24 hours I will go on to support whatever we put on the field, floor, or mat.
I would believe by the OP- he was talking about this specific game, not the season. And I agree. There were a couple of plays we may question because they didn’t work but overall, it was the best game plan and in game adjustments I have seen all year.

Agree 100% Crazy that anyone would remotely have that as a thought. The single player who had just a great season- makes a singular error, that I would think he is more upset about then anyone else- and someone thinks that single play is going to make our new AD question her life’s choices…I really can’t wrap my head around how stupid some of our fans sound at times.
yeah but there's a LOT of material there from over the years to work with and be highly frustrated about. No school does it better. Those of us bitching have also been extremely supportive when given the chance and the fact still here after 50 years (me) says something I hope. Have to agree except the calls on 3 and 4th down and the fake FG. Had Patel made that 41 yarder there early he would have been in position to make a 45 yarder to win the game (or at least go up 1).
Even though the D adjusted the gashing of them all year and the lack of discipline that side is mind blowing given GS's area of (believed) strength.
When we tried the fake FG the first two things I thought were:
The guys on the board who beg for trick plays are going to be the first to go crazy and also- I thought of our previous kickoff that direction that seemed to stop mid air.
we did still get gashed some in the 2nd half but it felt more like it was just a pure talent deficiency and not a lack of adjustment.
Now- some of the offensive calls- yeah, maybe a few mistakes and I always feel that a handoff to Raymond is a better choice than AK on a QB sneak. Not sure why Greg and KC love the rush push so much when we have guys like KM last year and Raymond this year. And our OL seems better at pushing Raymond forward on runs better than they are at tush push.
BTW- the Refs should all be banned from ever reffing again calling that Raymond run dead. At no time did his movement forward even stop for a split second. And how did they not review that head to head hit on AK- maybe one of the most obvious targeting I have seen all year.
Bac has been enthusiastic about the changed shade of scarlet on all university uniforms…which of course was a Schiano decision.
Schiano’s logic was that opponents looking at tape from previous years wouldn’t notice anything relevant to this year’s team because of the color change. Brilliant tactician Schiano is. Thinks of everything.

@bac2therac and I haven't seen each other in 20+ years so I only really know him from this board. But I assure you, he's a great Rutgers supporter with his time and money. Maybe he wears his frustration and disappointment on his sleeve more than you would like, but Rutgers would be much better off with more fans like him, then the predominant apathy from the other 1.6 million people (I Googled this) that have graduated from RU since 1975.

The HC his coaching staff which were hired by HIM were bad again. Supporting the staff is actually being a bad fan. We can’t go forward with an inept staff.
Our skill players will be gone next year, QB gone, and not fixing that disaster of a defense.
